Why Miami Homeowners Choose Cambria Construction
We’re an independent Miami Cambria service provider, and we handle everything from new slab installation to seam repair, chip restoration, and full kitchen remodels built around Cambria quartz. Our in-house team has worked with Cambria surfaces across Miami’s high-rise condos and coastal homes for over 15 years, from Brickell towers to Coral Gables kitchens. We’re not affiliated with or authorized by Cambria, which means we answer to you, not a manufacturer’s corporate policy. If you’re dealing with a chipped island, a dull spot from harsh cleaners, or a seam that’s pulling apart, call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you exactly what it costs before any work starts.
Why Trust Sawyer Remodel Miami for Your Cambria Construction?

Cambria is a beast to work with if you don’t know it. It’s 93% natural quartz and 7% resin binder, which means it cuts differently than granite or marble. Too much heat from a dull blade and the resin scorches. Wrong polishing compound and you get a cloudy finish that won’t come back. Luca Romano, our owner and lead contractor, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending decades running job sites across the country, and he’s been working Miami kitchens long enough to know that a slab cut in January behaves differently than one cut in August when the humidity is brutal. We carry factory-matched quartz repair kits and specialized pigments for the full Cambria palette: Brittanicca, Torquay, Sumerford, Swanbridge, and the rest. Every technician who walks into your home is background-checked and uniformed, and you get a written price before we touch a single tool. The price on your invoice is the price you approved. That’s The Relay Visibility Guarantee, and it’s on every project we run.
One more thing about trust. We’re part of the Relay Home Co. family, founded in 2005. Every Cambria job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing. If a repair fails, the second visit is free. We don’t argue about it. We just come back and fix it.

Common Cambria Construction Problems We Fix in Miami
- Chips along overhangs and sink cutouts. This is the most common call we get from Miami rental units and family kitchens. A stockpot drops, a pan hits the edge, and the 2cm profile chips. Cambria is tough, but it’s not indestructible. We clean the chip edges, fill with a quartz repair compound tinted to match your exact slab, and polish back to factory gloss. On undermount sinks, the front lip takes the most abuse.
- Seam alignment failures on large islands. Cambria’s pattern repeat on designs like Brittanicca and Torquay is nearly invisible when the layout is matched carefully. When it’s not, you see a visible break where the veining jumps. We see this constantly in Miami kitchens where a previous installer rushed the template. Fixing it often means removing and re-cutting the slab, because once the seam is glued, you can’t slide it back into alignment.
- Thermal shock cracking near cooktops. Hot pans placed directly on quartz near the cooktop edge cause thermal expansion that can crack the surface. Cambria is heat-resistant, not heat-proof. We’ve replaced more than one section where a homeowner set a cast iron skillet straight from the burner onto the counter. Once the crack runs deep enough, repair compound won’t save it. The slab section comes out and a new one goes in.
- Lippage between adjacent slabs in older Miami condos. When the subfloor settles in a building that’s 40 or 50 years old, the two adjacent slabs shift slightly, and you get a height difference, or lippage, at the seam. We can sometimes grind and re-polish. Other times the settle is too far gone and the slab needs to be shimmed from underneath, which means pulling counters and re-setting them. It’s the honest answer, not the fast one.
- Dull or hazy spots from harsh cleaners. Bleach, oven cleaner, and some degreasers etch the resin binder in Cambria and leave cloudy patches, usually near the sink. The gloss is gone and won’t come back with polishing compound alone. We re-polish with the same diamond pads Cambria uses at the factory, working up through the grits until the shine matches the surrounding surface. Most spots restore fully. Damage from deep chemical burns may need a slab section replaced.
Miami’s humid, salt-laden air makes some of this worse. Metal fasteners and cabinet hardware corrode faster here, and the constant moisture means seams have to be sealed perfectly or you get water intrusion behind the slab. A seam that holds up fine in Denver will fail in a Cambria service in Miami Gardens kitchen if it wasn’t prepped right.
Cambria Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

Cambria doesn’t sell slabs to just anyone, and they don’t manufacture “parts” the way an appliance brand does. Repairs use quartz repair kits, color-matched pigments, and diamond polishing systems. We stock factory-matched compounds for the most common Cambria designs in Miami: Brittanicca’s white base with grey veining, Torquay’s warmer tones, Sumerford’s darker charcoal, Swanbridge’s softer gold-grey. If you have a less common series, we order the matched pigment and have it in hand before we start.
Here’s our honest repair-vs-replace rule: if the chip is smaller than a quarter and hasn’t cracked through the slab, we repair. If the crack runs full depth, if a seam has failed beyond re-polishing, or if the slab is structurally compromised, we recommend full slab replacement. Quartz cannot be seamlessly bonded under load. A patched structural crack will fail again, and we won’t sell you a repair that we know won’t hold. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you which one you’re looking at, free estimate included.
Our Cambria Service Process – Step by Step
- 1
Diagnosis. We come out, look at the slab, check seam alignment, assess whether the subfloor has settled, and take photos. You get a written diagnosis with the repair or replacement option clearly stated, plus a fixed price.
- 2
Template and color match. For repairs, we match the pigment to your specific slab under both natural and LED light. For new installs, we template from your actual cabinets, not from builder plans. Cambria’s pattern repeat means the template has to account for veining direction. We mark the slab layout before cutting.
- 3
Repair or install. Repairs happen on site: fill, cure, wet-polish through the grits, seal the seam. Installs include leveling, lippage control, and clamping the seams so the pattern lands where it should. On a big island, one slab section out of alignment ruins the whole look.
- 4
Test and inspect. We run a straight edge across every seam, check for flush edges, polish out any micro-scratches, and walk the whole surface with you. You sign off before we leave.
- 5
Warranty. Every job is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If something’s not right within a year, we come back and make it right. No phone tag. No argument.

AfterCambria Products We Service & Install in Miami
We work with the full Cambria design palette. The lines we see most often in Miami kitchens are Brittanicca (white base, grey veining, the workhorse of modern condos), Torquay (warmer ivory tones), Sumerford (dark charcoal, hides wear well), and Swanbridge (soft grey-gold that works with warmer wood tones). We stock local inventory of color-matched repair compounds for these series, which means faster turnaround on chip repairs and seam fixes. New slab installation is ordered through our Cambria supplier network, and we handle the full scope: countertops, island fabrication, full-height backsplashes, and slab remnants for matching projects. If you’re remodeling a kitchen and want Cambria on the island but a different surface on the perimeter, we’ll give you the price for both and let you decide.
We Also Service These Brands
Cambria is a big part of our Miami work, but it’s not the only surface brand we install and repair. We also service and install KraftMaid cabinetry, Silestone quartz, Kohler fixtures, and Toto fixtures. That matters when you’re doing a full kitchen remodel and don’t want three different crews on site, so we offer our General Contractor services to handle everything. We handle the whole scope under one written price and one warranty.
FAQs – Cambria Construction Service in Miami

Most chips smaller than a quarter can be repaired invisibly using a quartz repair compound tinted to your exact slab color, then polished back to factory gloss. The key is exact pigment matching. If the chip cracked through the full slab thickness or the structural integrity is compromised, you’re looking at slab section replacement, not a patch. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you which one applies to your chip.
We template from the actual installed cabinets and mark veining direction before a single cut is made. On designs like Brittanicca, the pattern repeat means the two adjacent slab sections have to be laid out as one continuous field, not cut independently. If the seam is already glued and misaligned, re-cutting is usually the only fix. We see this on rushed builder installs throughout Miami, and it’s one of the most common corrections we make.
For most Miami kitchens, we recommend 3cm Cambria. It’s thicker, holds up better to daily abuse, doesn’t require plywood underlayment, and gives you a beefier edge profile on islands and overhangs. The 2cm profile is common in rental units and budget builds, but it chips more easily along overhangs and sink cutouts. If you’re renovating a condo and doing this once, go 3cm. The price difference is modest compared to replacing a 2cm slab section later.
Usually yes. Bleach and abrasive cleaners etch the resin binder in Cambria and leave cloudy patches. We re-polish the area with the same diamond pad progression Cambria uses at the factory, bringing the surface back to its original gloss. Deep chemical burns that have broken down the resin may not fully restore, and in those cases we’ll tell you honestly before we start. Call (850) 801-8046 for a free in-person assessment.
Sometimes. Cambria’s production batch colors shift slightly over years, so an exact match on a 10-year-old slab isn’t guaranteed even with the same series name. We’ll bring physical samples to your home, compare them against your current counters under your actual kitchen lighting, and tell you honestly whether a match will be close or noticeably different. If it won’t match, we’ll tell you that and show you alternatives before you spend a dollar.
