How Sawyer Remodel Miami Was Born in Miami

We brought Sawyer Remodeling to Miami because this city deserved better than what the remodeling industry was giving it. Not better materials or fancier showrooms. Better honesty.

Before this branch opened, we spent months talking to homeowners across Miami-Dade. From Coral Gables to Kendall, we heard the same stories. A kitchen quote that doubled halfway through the job. A bathroom contractor who vanished for three weeks. A flooring crew that left the baseboards leaning against the garage wall and never came back. One homeowner in Miami Shores told us she’d paid for a master bath remodel and ended up showering at her sister’s apartment in Sweetwater for four months because the project kept sliding. That conversation stuck with us.

The craft was never the problem in Miami. There are skilled tradespeople all over this county. The problem was the experience. Homeowners were flying blind. So when we opened this branch, we committed to something specific: every job gets a written price before any work starts, every customer gets photo updates of the work in progress, and nobody ever has to chase us for answers. That’s The Relay Visibility Guarantee, and it’s what Sawyer Remodeling is built on. Miami just needed a team willing to actually deliver it here.

Luca Romano’s Personal Connection to the Construction Trade

Luca Romano grew up around sawdust. His earliest memory of construction work is standing on a jobsite in South Florida as a kid, watching a framing crew raise a wall, and being handed a bent nail to keep him occupied. He held that nail for the rest of the afternoon. It’s still in a small tin box on his desk, rusted and thin, a reminder of what the work is actually about: building something real, with your hands, that someone will live in for decades.

He came into this trade the way a lot of people do: by watching, then doing, then fixing his own mistakes. Early on, he worked as a helper, hauling lumber and mixing mortar in the South Florida heat. He learned what a properly set tile feels like under your fingers before the thinset grabs. He learned that drywall dust gets into everything, that framing lumber has a smell like warm pine and salt air on a Miami morning, and that the difference between a good job and a great one is usually patience.

The work means something personal to him. When he walks through a house in Coral Terrace or Country Club after a remodel, he sees the coffee that’ll be made on that new counter, the kids who’ll do homework at that island, the Sunday dinners that’ll happen in that kitchen. Construction is a trade of small, deliberate acts: a level line, a square corner, a proper slope on a drain. Do those honestly, and the house holds together. That’s what gets him out of bed. If he weren’t doing this, he’d probably be teaching it somewhere, passing along the same patience someone once showed him.

Meet Luca Romano – The Person Behind Every Job

Luca Romano is the Owner & Founder of Sawyer Remodel Miami. He has spent more than a decade in construction and remodeling, working his way through every phase of residential work: framing, finish carpentry, tile, flooring, kitchens, and bathrooms. He leads the Miami branch personally, setting the standard for how every job is run from first estimate to final walkthrough.

What sets Luca apart is not a credential on a wall. It’s the way he runs a jobsite. He wants the same things you want: a price you can plan around, progress you can see, and a finished job that looks like the pictures. He answers his messages, keeps his word, and treats your house like it’s somebody’s home, because it is.

Outside of work, he’s an inshore angler. If he’s not on a jobsite on a Sunday, he’s usually out on Biscayne Bay with a light rod and a cooler, chasing mangrove snapper. He’ll tell you fishing teaches patience, and patience teaches remodeling. After twenty-one years around this trade, he’s earned both.

His commitment to you is simple: the price is written before the work starts, the updates come while the work is happening, and when the job is done, you’ll know exactly what was done and what it cost.

Our Promise to Miami Homeowners

Our promise is not a list of adjectives. It’s a way of working, called The Relay Standard.

The price goes in writing before we start. Not an estimate that drifts. A written price. If the scope changes, we talk about it first, and you approve the change in writing. No surprises at the end.

You see the work as it happens. We send photo updates before and after key milestones. You’ll know what got done, when it got done, and what comes next. The Relay Visibility Guarantee covers this: you see the work, the photos, and the final invoice laid out line by line.

And a detail that matters more than it sounds: we text a digital invoice you can pay from the link. No paper. No phone call. No chasing. Just a clear record you can pull up anytime.

The old way of remodeling in Miami was: sign a vague contract, hope for the best, and brace for the change order. We work differently. You’ll know who is coming, when they will be there, and what it will cost.

Our Credentials

Here’s what stands behind every Sawyer Remodel Miami job:

  • State-licensed. Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license their state requires for the work they perform.
  • Insured and bonded. Coverage is required for every pro on every job, so you’re protected if something goes wrong.
  • Deep local experience. Our team has spent more than a decade on residential remodels across Miami-Dade County, from North Miami to Opa-locka to Hialeah Gardens.
  • Strong local reputation. Miami homeowners talk. The fact that so much of our work comes from referrals in neighborhoods like Kendall, Fountainebleau, and Miami Gardens tells us we’re earning the trust people extend to us.
  • Backed by The Relay Visibility Guarantee. This is the promise stamped on every job: a written price before we start, photo updates while we work, and a digital invoice you can pay from your phone.

Here’s why these matter: when someone works in your home, you’re not just hiring a pair of hands. You’re letting a stranger into the place where your family sleeps. The license means they’ve met a real standard. The insurance means you’re protected if something breaks. The written price means you never have to worry about what the job will really cost. And the guarantee means the whole process is visible, start to finish, on your phone.

Rooted in Miami

Miami is not one neighborhood. It’s a patchwork of them, and each one builds differently. A 1950s ranch in Coral Gables has different bones than a condo in Fountainebleau or a newer build in Country Club. We know the difference because we work in all of them. When we quote a kitchen remodel in Kendall, we’ve probably remodeled three others on nearby streets. When we open a bathroom wall in Miami Shores, we know what plumbing era we’re likely to find behind it.

The name Sawyer comes from the tradesperson who cuts the lumber. It’s a name about craft, about the saw and the cut and the person who makes it true. Miami deserves that kind of work. We’re here to do it.
