Toto Bathroom Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
A Toto bathroom remodel in Miami typically runs $10,620 to $33,040, and that range covers everything from swapping a failing Toto toilet and worn valve trim to a full wet-area rebuild with new tile, pan, and fixtures. If your Toto toilet is running constantly, leaking at the base, or your Toto shower valve won’t hold temperature, we can usually get a technician out to assess it within a day or two, with the part matched to your exact model before we touch a single bolt. Most Miami homeowners call us after the Toto fill valve inside the tank gives out silently, the flapper warps from mineral-heavy water, or the shower cartridge seizes from calcium buildup, and they realize the part they bought online doesn’t match the model number stamped under the lid.
What sets Toto apart is the tight engineering. These aren’t universal-fit fixtures. A Toto G-Max flush valve is not a Toto Tornado Flush valve, and no amount of YouTube convincing will make them interchangeable. We carry the common Toto parts on the truck when we head to a job, and we identify the exact model from the stamp inside the tank or under the trim plate before anyone spends a dollar.
Which Toto Models This Applies To

We work across the Toto lines Miami homes actually have installed: Drake, Drake II, Ultramax, Entrada, Eco Soiree, Legato, Carlyle, and the Aquia wall-hung series. The critical step for any Toto bathroom remodel is reading the model number correctly. For toilets, pop the tank lid and look at the porcelain wall just above the water line. You’ll see something like ST743S or CST744E. That string tells you the series, the rough-in depth (10″, 12″, or 14″), and whether it’s an elongated or round bowl. Buy for the wrong rough-in and the toilet doesn’t bolt to the flange at all. For shower valves, remove the trim plate and look for a model code on the mixing valve body, usually starting with T. That code determines which cartridge fits. A Toto EcoPower valve and a standard Toto pressure-balance valve use different cartridges, and installing the wrong one either leaks immediately or seizes within a month.
On the OEM question: Toto’s genuine parts are the safest path for anything that touches water flow specifically the flush tower, the cartridge, and the inlet valve. Toto valves are designed as a system, and an aftermarket part that’s off by a millimeter in the seal geometry will flush poorly or leak at the tank-to-bowl gasket. Where aftermarket is genuinely fine: seat hinges, tank levers, and trip levers. Those are cosmetic and universal enough that a quality aftermarket replacement performs identically. We’ll tell you which is which, on your specific model, before you spend anything.
One Miami-specific gotcha: Toto’s older Cyclone flush valve gaskets degrade faster here because of the chlorine residuals in Miami-Dade water. We replace more of those in Brickell and Coconut Grove condos than anywhere else in the country. If your toilet flushes partially and refills twice, that gasket is the usual culprit on pre-2015 Toto models.
Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent remodeling and plumbing service provider, not an authorized Toto dealer. We source genuine Toto parts through the same distribution channel any Toto dealer uses, and our work comes with our own written guarantee on top of any manufacturer warranty.

Signs Your Toto Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- The toilet refills every 10 to 20 minutes by itself. A warped flapper or a compromised flush tower gasket is letting water slip from the tank into the bowl. It’s quiet, it’s constant, and your water bill is already noticing. In Miami, this is usually the flush tower seal on G-Max models or the flapper on older Drake installations.
- The shower temperature swings hot-cold-hot-cold while you’re standing in it. The Toto pressure-balance cartridge has seized from mineral scale and can’t modulate anymore. South Florida water hardness makes this a five-to-eight-year wear item even on well-maintained systems.
- Water seeps at the base of the toilet, but only after a flush. The wax ring has failed, or the tank-to-bowl gasket is weeping. We see this exact symptom in Coral Gables homes where the original install was done before Toto’s later tightening specifications became standard.
- You hear running water inside the tank, but the water isn’t visible. The Toto fill valve’s internal float is eroded or the shutoff diaphragm has hardened. The part is cheap, but the wrong replacement causes that screeching refill sound and a slow, weak flush.
- The flush handle needs to be held down fully to get a complete flush. On Toto Aquia and Eco Soiree models, that’s a misaligned flush tower cable, not a weak flapper. People who replace the flapper first actually make it worse, because these models don’t use a traditional flapper at all.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Toto-specific bathroom remodel in Miami, our installed pricing runs $10,620 to $33,040. Where the job lands depends mostly on whether we’re rebuilding the wet area or replacing fixtures only. A straightforward Toto toilet swap with new supply line, flange inspection, and wax ring runs at the low end. A full bathroom overhaul where we demo to studs, waterproof a new Toto shower system, re-tile, and set new Toto fixtures starts climbing toward the middle and top of that range.
Every quote we write in Miami includes the parts, the labor, the disposal, and the waterproofing, all as separate line items. No lump-sum mystery. Here’s how the component pricing typically breaks down:
- Fixture-only remodel: $10,620 – $14,160 (swap existing Toto toilet, valve trim, showerhead, supply lines)
- Wet-area rebuild: $14,160 – $23,600 (new Toto shower pan, waterproofing, tile, valve body, fixtures)
- Full bathroom remodel: $23,600 – $33,040 (demo to studs, all new Toto plumbing, tile, vanity, and finish work)
The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every Toto bathroom remodel we complete. If a part we installed fails or the work isn’t right, we make it right. We also stand behind the written price. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice, period. Luca Romano reviews every Toto job quote himself before it goes out, and he’s the one who walks the site at the end.

AfterDIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely check the model number yourself. Pop the tank lid and read the stamp. That gives us the exact part to bring, and it saves you a trip charge. You can also shut off the supply valve behind the toilet if it’s actively leaking, provided the valve moves freely and doesn’t snap off in your hand. That last part matters: old Miami shutoff valves are notorious for failing exactly when you need them most. If the valve is stiff, leave it alone and call us.
What you shouldn’t do is replace a Toto cartridge or flush tower yourself unless you’ve done it on that exact model before. The cartridge in particular sits under spring tension, and releasing it incorrectly sends small parts across the bathroom at face level. We’ve repaired enough botched DIY cartridge jobs in Brickell to know the $40 part isn’t worth a $500 repair. If you’re in any doubt, call (850) 801-8046 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s a check-it-yourself situation or something we should handle.
FAQs

A properly installed Toto toilet lasts 15 to 20 years in Miami, while the shower cartridge and fill valve are 5-to-8-year wear items because of local water hardness. The toilet porcelain itself almost never fails; it’s the internal seals and gaskets that go first, and they’re replaceable without tearing out the fixture.
In most cases, yes. If the porcelain is intact and the fixture is less than 20 years old, we can replace the internal components rather than the entire unit. The decision comes down to whether the repair restores original performance or just delays the inevitable. We’ll give you both prices before you choose. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you straight.
A fixture-only replacement takes one day. A wet-area rebuild runs three to five working days. A full bathroom remodel in Miami runs two to three weeks, depending on tile curing time and whether we’re moving any plumbing lines. We give you a written schedule before we start, and we stick to it.
We keep the most common Toto parts on the truck: flappers, flush tower gaskets, fill valves, cartridges for the popular valve families, and tank-to-bowl gaskets. Unusual trim finishes or specific Aquia components may need a supply-house run, which we handle same-day in most cases. If we have to order, we’ll tell you before you commit to anything.
