CertainTeed Kitchen Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
We install and source CertainTeed-compatible kitchen remodel materials across Miami, with full kitchen remodels running $16,520 to $53,100 depending on scope, materials, and the condition of the existing space. Most CertainTeed kitchen products homeowners ask us about involve cabinetry, laminate surfaces, or trim that has begun separating, swelling, or delaminating after years of South Florida humidity. If you’re calling because a drawer front split, an edge band peeled, or a cabinet box has gone soft, you’re in the right place. We’ll match the part, price it in writing, and handle the install without surprises.
We’re an independent Miami remodeling contractor, not a CertainTeed dealer or affiliate. But we’ve been working with their products long enough to know what holds up in this climate and what doesn’t. If you have a CertainTeed kitchen component that’s failed, here’s what you need to know before you spend a dollar.
Which CertainTeed Models This Applies To

CertainTeed’s kitchen footprint is narrower than their roofing or siding lines, but the products that do exist show up in a lot of Miami homes built or renovated between roughly 2005 and 2020. Most of what we see falls into three buckets: CertainTeed laminate countertops and backsplash panels, CertainTeed vinyl and laminate cabinet doors or drawer fronts, and CertainTeed ceiling or wall panels used in kitchen soffits and wet areas. Each has its own compatibility quirks.
The first gotcha: CertainTeed laminate surfaces use a proprietary edge profile on some runs, which means a generic big-box replacement edge will sit proud of the surface by a visible millimeter or two. The second: cabinet door hinge boring patterns on CertainTeed cabinetry are sometimes offset by 3mm from the industry-standard 35mm cup position, so swapping a hinge without checking the bore center will leave the door hanging crooked. Neither of these is hard to fix, but both are easy to get wrong if you’re guessing. If you can pull a drawer front or a sample piece, bring it to a quote or send a photo with a tape measure next to the hinge. It saves everyone a return trip.
OEM CertainTeed replacement parts exist, but lead times can stretch into weeks depending on the product line. In most cases we recommend quality aftermarket equivalents for hinges, slides, edge banding, and laminate sheets. The OEM premium rarely buys you a visible difference on a ten-year-old kitchen, and aftermarket parts are often locally available the same week. We’ll tell you upfront which parts we can source OEM and where aftermarket makes more sense.

Signs Your CertainTeed Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Laminate is lifting or bubbling at the seams. This is the classic Miami failure. Humidity gets under the laminate at a sink cutout or a seam, the substrate swells, and the surface separates. Once the particleboard core has gone soft, a patch won’t hold; the section has to be replaced.
- Cabinet doors have stopped closing flush. Over time, the hinge cup can loosen in the door’s particleboard, often after someone leaned on the door or a kid hung off it. If the screw holes are stripped, the fix is either a larger screw with a filler plug or a hinge with a wider mounting plate.
- Drawer glides are grinding, sticking, or jumping. Salt air near the coast accelerates corrosion on metal glides, even indoors. If the drawer is hard to open or the glide catches halfway, the bearings or rollers are likely worn. Lubricant buys a week; replacement buys years.
- Edge banding is peeling away along the counter or cabinet facing. Heat from a dishwasher, a toaster oven, or direct sun through a window eventually breaks down the adhesive. Once it peels, moisture gets behind it and starts working on the core. Catch it early and it’s a simple reband.
- Soft spots in the cabinet floor under the sink. If the base of your sink cabinet flexes when you press it, water has been getting in, usually from a slow leak at the supply line or the drain. By the time you feel it, the cabinet floor usually needs to be cut out and replaced, not just dried.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Miami, a full kitchen remodel with CertainTeed-compatible materials runs $16,520 to $53,100. A smaller kitchen, meaning under 120 square feet or galley-style, lands around $10,620 to $23,600. If all you need is cabinet work, expect $4,720 to $15,340. Countertop installation runs $2,360 to $7,670, and a backsplash job is $945 to $2,950.
Every quote includes the written line-item price before work starts, materials and labor broken out, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If the work isn’t done right, we make it right within a year, no argument. We also stock common CertainTeed-compatible hinges, glides, edge banding, and laminate on the truck, so a good portion of parts-only repairs don’t require a second visit. You’ll know the full cost before we start cutting.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: pull a drawer and look at the glide condition, press the cabinet floor under the sink for softness, run your hand along the counter edge to feel for lifting laminate. That inspection helps you explain the problem when you call. What you shouldn’t do is take a heat gun to laminate, try to re-band with contact cement bought from a hardware store, or attempt to re-drill hinge cups freehand. We’ve fixed more DIY attempts than we’ve prevented, and a botched laminate repair usually means the whole section has to come out anyway. If you’re not sure, the call is free. FAQs

In Miami’s humidity, CertainTeed laminate surfaces and cabinet components typically hold up 10 to 15 years before visible wear or moisture damage sets in, with sink-base cabinets often failing first because of the constant exposure to water and cleaning chemicals. Coastal homes near the water may see shorter lifespans on metal hardware due to salt air. Call (850) 801-8046 if you’re seeing early failure, and we’ll tell you what’s fixable versus replaceable.
Yes, isolated failures like stripped hinges, worn glides, and peeling edge banding can usually be repaired without a full replacement if the substrate is still solid. Once particleboard has swollen or gone soft, though, that section has to come out. Call (850) 801-8046 for an honest assessment.
A typical parts repair like hinge or glide replacement takes one visit, usually under half a day. A full kitchen remodel in Miami runs 4 to 8 weeks depending on scope, permitting, and material lead times. We give you a written schedule before work starts, and we stick to it.
We stock common CertainTeed-compatible hinges, glides, edge banding, and laminate sheets on our trucks, which means many repairs are completed the same visit. For specific OEM CertainTeed parts, we can order them, but we’ll tell you upfront if an aftermarket equivalent will save you time and money.
