Tamko Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Tamko fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620, and most full replacements we handle are done in two to four days depending on fence length, gate count, and whether the old posts need concrete work. You probably landed here because a section of fence is leaning hard, a gate drags, or a post snapped at the base after a tropical storm, and the fence is Tamko vinyl or composite, not the generic stuff every other contractor slaps in. We stock Tamko-compatible panels, posts, rails, and gate hardware on our trucks, which means we don’t show up, measure, and disappear for three weeks while you wait on a parts order.
The short version: if your Tamko fence looks rough after a storm or has been standing since the last decade, we can match the profile and color, price it before we touch anything, and get it standing straight again.
Which Tamko Models This Applies To

Tamko’s fencing line runs under the Envision brand, and Miami homes we work on usually have one of two profiles: the Classic spindle-top picket or the privacy tongue-and-groove panel. Both use the same structural system: vinyl or composite rails that slide into routed post slots, with aluminum U-channel stiffeners inside the bottom rail on the privacy panels. Where owners get hung up is matching the color, because Tamko’s Weathered Wood and Khaki tones are not interchangeable with big-box store vinyl, and swapping one mismatched panel looks worse than the original damage.
We always check the rail thickness before quoting. Tamko’s Envision line uses a 0.090-inch reinforced rail wall, where budget vinyl fences run 0.065 or thinner, and that extra material changes how the fence handles Miami wind load. OEM Tamko parts keep the profile tight and the color matched. Aftermarket equivalents exist, but for rails and posts we recommend OEM every time because the routed channels are proprietary, and a generic rail that doesn’t seat fully into the post will pull out at the first tropical gust. For gate hinges and latches, we often use aftermarket stainless hardware because it outperforms the factory zinc in salt air. Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Tamko, but we install their parts by spec because we know the system.

Signs Your Tamko Fence Installation Is Failing
- Leaning post at the base. In Miami’s limestone and sandy mix, posts set in shallow concrete or with no concrete at all will lean after a few storm seasons. The fix is pulling the post, re-setting it below the frost line with proper drainage gravel, not just pushing it back straight and hoping.
- Rail popped out of the post slot. Vinyl expands and contracts in Miami’s heat, and a rail that wasn’t cut with expansion clearance will climb out of the routed channel. You’ll see the rail end sticking an inch out the back of the post.
- Gate dragging or not latching. The hinge screws have pulled out of the post wall, or the post itself is twisting under gate weight. Tightening screws usually fails again within a month because the underlying post has microfractures.
- Bottom rail bowing or cracked. Tamko’s aluminum stiffener can corrode in coastal air over time, and once that internal stiffener fails, the bottom rail carries the full panel weight and starts sagging.
- Brown streaks or white chalk on the surface. The brown is mildew feeding on dirt, common with Miami humidity. The white chalk is vinyl oxidation, which doesn’t hurt the structure but tells you the fence is past middle age and panels are getting brittle.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a typical Miami residential Tamko fence, full teardown and reinstallation runs $4,130 to $10,620. A single post replacement with re-set concrete is on the lower end, around $400 to $800 per post, while a full panel-and-post rebuild on a larger lot with gates lands in the upper range. The big cost drivers are linear feet, post depth and concrete work, gate count, and whether the existing posts can be reused or need full excavation. In some Miami neighborhoods, soil density shifts a lot block to block, which changes post depth and concrete volume, and that’s a line item you’ll see on the written price, not a surprise at the invoice.
Every Tamko fence installation from us includes the new parts, removal and haul-away of the old fence, concrete setting for posts, gate alignment, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if the fence settles, shifts, or the gate binds within a year, we make it right at no charge. The price you approve before we start is the price you pay.
DIY or Call Us?
A homeowner can safely clean Tamko vinyl with a mild detergent and soft brush to keep mildew off, check that gate hinges are snug, and verify drainage isn’t pooling at the post bases. What you shouldn’t DIY is the structural work. Pulling a set post to re-seat it without cracking the concrete or destabilizing the fence line takes a digging bar and patience, and cutting vinyl rails to length wrong means wasted panels at $90 to $140 each, plus the Tamko color match issue if you order from a generic supplier. Gate post failures that look minor can drop a full gate on someone if the post finally gives out, so we treat every leaning gate post as a job to fix now, not later. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll come look, give you a written price, and if it’s a simple fix we’ll tell you that too.
FAQs

A properly installed Tamko Envision fence lasts 20 to 25 years in Miami’s climate, with surface oxidation starting around year 12 and structural failures driven mostly by post-setting depth and hurricane-force wind, not the panels themselves. The fence usually outlasts the gate hardware.
Yes, we replace single posts, single panels, rails, and gate hardware, and if the remaining fence is structurally sound we’ll say so honestly instead of pushing a full teardown. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you what’s actually needed.
A section repair usually takes one day. A full fence replacement on a standard Miami lot runs two to four days including concrete curing time before gates are rehung.
We stock Tamko-compatible rails, posts, panels, and gate hardware on our trucks, and for uncommon colors or profiles we order OEM and lay out the timeline in the written estimate before any work starts.
