CGI Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
CGI driveway and paver replacement in Miami typically runs $8,260 to $21,240 installed, depending on square footage, paver type, and what’s underneath the old surface. We stock CGI-compatible pavers and edge restraints on our trucks, which means most replacements in the Miami area start within days of your estimate, not weeks. Most owners call us after a paver has cracked, sunk, or shifted enough to create a trip hazard in the driveway.
The symptom picture is usually the same: a section of your driveway settles after a heavy Miami rain, a paver cracks under the weight of an SUV, or the edge restraints let go and the pattern starts spreading at the borders. You notice the uneven spot every time you pull in. The pavers might look fine individually, but the base underneath has failed, and that’s where the real work happens.
Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with CGI, but we work with their paver systems regularly because they hold up better than most in Florida’s heat and drainage conditions. Luca Romano has been running paver and driveway work in Miami long enough to know that the failure is rarely the paver itself. It’s the base, the sand, or the edge locking system underneath.
Which CGI Models This Applies To

CGI’s driveway and paver line covers a few distinct product families, and the part you need depends on which one you have. The three most common in Miami are the CGI StoneCraft pavers, the CGI Permeable series, and the CGI Commercial-rated pavers. Each uses a different thickness and edge profile, so a paver from one series won’t seat correctly in a border made for another.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most people miss: CGI StoneCraft pavers are 60mm thick, while the Permeable series runs 80mm with a wider joint gap for drainage. If you mix them, the surface height changes and you feel a lip every time you walk across it. Look for the stamped code on the underside of any loose paver. It’ll start with a series letter followed by a four-digit production number. That code tells us exactly what to order, even if the paver color has faded from years of Miami sun.
For replacement parts, we recommend OEM CGI pavers whenever the driveway is under ten years old. The color match is closer, and the dimensional consistency is better than most aftermarket equivalents. For older drives where the color has shifted, a quality aftermarket paver that matches the weathered tone can save you real money. We’ll show you both options side by side before you commit to anything.

Signs Your CGI Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Sinking or birdbath depressions. Heavy Miami rain saturates the base and washes out the sand underneath. Water pools in low spots instead of draining to the edges, and the pavers drop. The base needs to be excavated and re-compacted in that section.
- Spreading or gap separation at the edges. The plastic or concrete edge restraints have failed or pulled away from the paver field. Without that locked edge, the whole pattern slowly shifts outward, and gaps open up where the pavers meet your garage slab.
- Cracked or chipped pavers in the tire path. Driveway pavers take point loads from car and truck tires. A paver that’s cracked straight through usually means the base settled unevenly beneath that spot. Replacing just the paver without fixing the base is a short-term patch.
- Weeds pushing up between joints. The sand in the joints has washed out, and organic material is working its way in. This is early-stage failure. Fixing it now with fresh polymeric sand and edge repair costs a fraction of a full replacement.
- Wobbling pavers when you walk on them. Each paver should sit firm and quiet. If several rock underfoot, the bedding sand has eroded from underneath. Wobble means water is moving through the base, and that’s the start of bigger settlement issues.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Paver driveway installation in Miami runs $8,260 to $21,240 depending on square footage, existing base condition, and paver selection. A smaller two-car driveway with a competent base sits at the low end. A larger driveway with failing base, drainage corrections, and premium paver upgrades lands at the top. We give you the written line-item price before any work starts, so you know the paver cost, the base work, and the labor separately.
Every CGI paver replacement includes removal of the old surface, base inspection and re-compaction, fresh bedding sand, OEM or matched aftermarket pavers, edge restraints, and polymeric joint sand. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work for a full year. If a paver shifts or the edge lets go within that year, we come back and fix it. No argument, no invoice.
Driveway sealing runs $295 to $825 if the pavers are otherwise sound. If you catch joint erosion early, sealing now is a much better investment than replacing pavers in two years. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you which side of that line your driveway is on.
DIY or Call Us?
You can absolutely inspect your own pavers. Walk the surface, look for wobble, check the edges, and note where water pools after rain. That tells you what’s failing. What you shouldn’t do is pull pavers and try to re-bed them yourself unless you have a plate compactor and the patience to re-grade the base. Paver work looks simple and isn’t. Half the DIY paver repairs we see in Miami involve a homeowner who reset the pavers on top of the same failed base, and the problem was back within a season.
The safety concern here is trip liability more than physical danger. A driveway with a sinking paver field is a sprained ankle waiting to happen, and it’s a liability issue if a delivery driver or neighbor takes a fall. The fix is straightforward for a crew that does it every week. We bring the compactor, the right base material, and the pavers matched to your existing field. Call (850) 801-8046 for a free estimate, and we’ll tell you whether this is a seal-and-sand job or a full section rebuild.
FAQs

CGI pavers installed on a properly compacted base last 20 to 30 years in Miami’s climate. The pavers themselves rarely fail. What shortens the lifespan is a base that wasn’t compacted in lifts, poor edge restraints, or drainage that sends water under the field. Fix those, and the pavers outlast most other driveway surfaces in South Florida. Call (850) 801-8046 for a base evaluation.
Yes, in most cases we can rebuild a failed section rather than the whole driveway. The key is matching the paver color and thickness to the existing field. That’s why we ask for the stamped code on the underside of a loose paver. If the base is sound and the issue is isolated to one area, section repair costs well under a full replacement. We’ll show you the numbers before you decide.
A standard two-car driveway replacement takes three to five working days in Miami, including base work, paver installation, and joint sand. Rain can add a day or two since we don’t compact saturated base material. You’ll have the written schedule before we start, and photo updates go to your phone as the work progresses, per The Relay Standard.
We stock the most common CGI paver styles and edge restraints on our trucks, which means most replacements don’t wait on material delivery. If your pavers are an uncommon color or the Permeable series, we source them directly and the lead time is usually under a week. We also stock compatible aftermarket options from KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone lines for other home projects, but driveway pavers come from the CGI-compatible range. Call (850) 801-8046 with your paver code and we’ll confirm stock before you schedule.
Good work doesn’t need a sales pitch. You need a driveway that drains, sits flat, and holds its edge. We’ll put the number in writing, show you exactly what’s underneath the problem, and fix it so it stays fixed. Call (850) 801-8046 for your free estimate.
