Mr-Glass Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Mr-Glass compatible paver driveway components across Miami, with complete paver driveway installations running $8,260 to $21,240 depending on square footage, paver type, and base condition. Most paver-related failures we see are not the pavers themselves but what sits underneath them: washed-out bedding sand, shifted edge restraints, or a base layer that was never compacted right for Florida’s sandy soil and heavy summer rain. You’ll usually notice it as a paver that rocks underfoot, a sunken section near the driveway apron, or sand washing out onto the sidewalk after every downpour.
If you own a Mr-Glass driveway system in Miami, this page tells you what breaks first, what it costs to fix, and when to stop poking at it and call us at (850) 801-8046.
Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To

Mr-Glass driveway and paver systems in Miami fall into two general camps: full paver driveways built on a compacted aggregate base, and paver accents or borders set into concrete. The failure points differ, and so does the fix. If you have the original paperwork, look for a series code stamped on the underside of a lifted paver or on the edge restraint. Most Mr-Glass driveway pavers run 60mm or 80mm thickness for vehicular loads; anything thinner than 60mm was never rated for a driveway and will crack under repeated car weight.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha we run into constantly in Miami: pavers that look identical from the top can have different locking lugs on the sides. Mr-Glass pavers use a specific interlock pattern, and dropping in a generic big-box paver with the wrong lug spacing means the new piece sits proud or wobbles. For replacement pieces, we track down OEM Mr-Glass pavers or aftermarket equivalents that match the lug profile and color batch, not just the top dimensions. For full driveways, we install new Mr-Glass compatible pavers in the correct 60mm or 80mm rating with a proper 4-6 inch compacted base. We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone, but Mr-Glass is the paver system we see most on Miami driveways.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Rocking or wobbling pavers. This means the bedding sand layer under that paver has washed out or compacted unevenly. In Miami, heavy afternoon rain is usually the culprit, and ignoring it leads to cracked pavers as car tires flex them back and forth.
- Sunken depressions near the driveway entrance. The base underneath was either too thin or never compacted in lifts. Water pools there, soil erodes further, and the depression worsens each wet season. This is a base failure, not a paver failure.
- Sand washing out after rain. If you see sand trails on the concrete or gutter after a storm, the joint sand is leaving. Once joints are empty, pavers shift and chip against each other. Polymeric sand in Miami breaks down faster than northern installs because of our UV and rain cycles.
- Edge pavers spreading outward. The plastic or metal edge restraint has failed or was never staked correctly. Without a solid edge, the whole field of pavers loses tension and drifts, especially on sloped Miami driveways.
- Hairline cracks running across multiple pavers. This is usually a base settling issue or point loading from tires, not a material defect. Single cracked pavers we can swap; a cracked field means the base is moving and a patch job won’t hold.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Miami specifically, here’s what Mr-Glass driveway and paver work runs:
- Single paver replacement: $295 to $825, depending on whether we can match from existing stock or need to order a color batch
- Localized repair (reset a sunken section, refill joints, re-stake edges): $945 to $2,950
- Driveway replacement with new Mr-Glass compatible pavers: $5,900 to $16,520
- Full new paver driveway installation: $8,260 to $21,240
The range comes down to square footage, whether the existing base is salvageable, and paver thickness. Every quote includes the pavers, base material, delivery, labor, and disposal of the old material. You get a written price before we start, so the number you approve is the number on the invoice. No change orders, no “we found something” surcharges. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work: if it’s not done right, we make it right. In writing. Every time.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely lift a single paver and look at what’s underneath. That tells you a lot: is the sand base intact? Is there a base layer at all? Is the edge restraint still staked? What you should not do is try to reset a full paver section without compacting the base properly. Undersized base work is how Miami driveways end up with sunken spots in the first place, and a hand tamper won’t match a plate compactor. We also don’t recommend cutting pavers with an angle grinder without a proper masonry blade and dust control; one wrong cut and you’re buying a new paver anyway. If the base has failed, you’re not fixing it on a Saturday. Call us at (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you straight what you need.
FAQs

With a proper base and regular re-sanding of joints every 3 to 5 years, Mr-Glass driveway pavers in Miami last 20 to 30 years. The pavers themselves hold up well; it’s the base and joint sand that fail first in our climate. If your joints are empty and pavers are shifting at year 8, the base was likely installed thin from the start. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll assess what you actually have.
Yes, localized repairs are common: we reset sunken sections, replace cracked pavers, refill joints with polymeric sand, and re-stake failing edges. If more than about a third of the driveway has base failure, repair costs approach replacement and we’ll tell you that honestly before you spend. A free estimate gives you the exact number either way; just call (850) 801-8046.
A single paver swap takes under an hour. A localized reset of a sunken section typically runs one to two days including base re-compaction. A full driveway replacement in Miami usually takes three to five working days depending on demo, base work, and paver laying. You’ll get a written timeline before we start, with photo updates before and after.
We keep common Mr-Glass compatible colors and 60mm and 80mm driveway pavers in stock for single-piece swaps. Older or discontinued color batches may need a special order, which we handle for you and confirm lead time before any work is scheduled. Bring us a photo of the paver and the measurements, or call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll identify it from the lot code.
