Therma-Tru Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Therma-Tru-compatible driveway and paver parts across Miami, with most installed jobs landing between $4,130 and $21,240 depending on whether you’re replacing a section of pavers or redoing the full driveway. If you’ve got a cracked paver, a sunken section, or shifting edges after a hard rain, that’s the usual entry point. The good news: we keep common Therma-Tru paver profiles and matching color blends in our Miami inventory, so we can usually swap parts the same week you call.
Which Therma-Tru Models This Applies To

Therma-Tru’s driveway paver line splits into three families: the Classic Series (modular rectangles, most common in Miami subdivisions built after 2010), the Estate Series (larger format, tumbled edges, usually found in Coral Gables and Pinecrest driveways), and the permeable AquaFlow series that shows up in newer builds where Miami-Dade stormwater rules required drainage. The compatibility gotcha most homeowners hit is paver thickness. Classic Series pavers run 2 3/8 inches thick, while Estate Series runs 3 1/8 inches. You can’t drop an Estate paver into a Classic run and expect the surface to sit flush. Flip a loose paver over and look at the mold stamp on the underside. It’ll say the series name and a date code. Send us a photo and we’ll match it before we roll a truck.
On OEM versus aftermarket: Therma-Tru’s own replacement pavers run 15 to 20 percent more than equivalent architectural-grade aftermarket units, and in Florida, the aftermarket options from Techo-Bloc and Belgard hold up just as well to sun and salt air. We stock both. The real difference is color matching. A four-year-old Therma-Tru driveway has UV-faded pigment, so we order matched-lot pavers pulled from the same regional batch when possible. Aftermarket pavers may not blend perfectly on older driveways. We’ll tell you straight if a repair will show a visible seam before you spend a dollar.

Signs Your Therma-Tru Driveway & Pavers Are Failing
- Sunken or cupped sections near the garage apron. This is almost always a base failure. Miami’s sandy soil shifts, and if the original install skimped on crushed limestone or didn’t compact in lifts, the pavers sink. The paver itself isn’t bad; what’s under it failed.
- Surface flaking or spalling on individual pavers. You’ll see a fine white powder and a rough surface where the top layer has separated. South Florida’s humidity plus cheap sealer that trapped moisture is the usual cause.
- Cracks running clean through a paver, not just at the edges. A through-crack means point pressure, often a vehicle parked consistently in the same spot with a weak base underneath. Replacing the paver is easy; fixing the base requires cutting out and recompacting that section.
- Edges spreading outward along the driveway border. The edge restraint failed. Without a proper plastic or concrete edge, pavers drift outward and open gaps along the sides.
- Standing water pooling after a normal Miami afternoon storm. Pavers should drain. If water sits for hours, the base grade was wrong or the permeable joints are clogged with silt and algae. That’s a cleaning and joint-replacement job, not a full rip-out.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what installed Therma-Tru paver work runs in Miami right now:
- Single paver replacement: $150 – $350
- Section repair (up to 100 sq ft): $1,200 – $3,500
- Full paver driveway installation: $8,260 – $21,240
- Paver patio installation: $4,130 – $12,980
- Driveway replacement (any material): $5,900 – $16,520
Every quote we write includes the paver cost, base material, haul-away of the old section, joint sand, and compaction. The price you approve is the price on the invoice. If we open up a section and find the base is worse than the surface suggested, we stop and send you photos before moving a single additional stone. That’s The Relay Standard: written price before work starts, pictures before and after, and no surprise line items. As Luca Romano puts it, good work doesn’t need a sales pitch.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a single paver on a stable base is something a careful homeowner can do with a pry bar, a rubber mallet, and paver sand. But if you’ve got sinking, spreading, or water pooling, the problem is under the pavers, not the pavers themselves. Digging up a Miami driveway base without knowing the compaction spec means you’ll be back out there in six months looking at the same sag. High-pressure washing with the wrong tip also eats the paver surface, so if you’re unsure, skip it. If the pavers are along a driveway with significant slope toward the street, a bad DIY repair can shift and create a tripping hazard at the curb. We’d rather you not learn that one the hard way. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll give you an honest read over the phone and a free estimate in writing before any work starts.
FAQs

Expect 20 to 30 years from the paver itself in Miami’s UV and humidity, but the base underneath typically needs attention around the 15-year mark. The pavers you have are probably fine; the sand and limestone under them are what wears out first in South Florida soil.
If you’re seeing movement before year 10, the base was likely underbuilt by the original installer. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you what’s actually under there. Estimates are free.
No. Concrete pavers that crack cannot be glued back to structural strength. The repair is replacing the individual paver with a matched unit. We ask about the age and sun exposure of the surrounding pavers so the replacement blends, and we’ll tell you before you order whether it’ll be invisible or slightly visible.
Call (850) 801-8046 with a photo of the cracked paver and its underside stamp. We’ll match the series and give you a written price.
Most section repairs of up to 100 square feet take one day for removal, base recompaction, and paver reset. If we’re replacing edge restraints or doing a full driveway, expect two to three days. In Miami, rain can push schedule, so we build a weather buffer into every estimate and keep you updated with photo messages as the work progresses.

We keep the most common Miami-installed Classic Series profiles and color blends in stock, and we can source Estate Series and AquaFlow units from our local Miami supplier within three to five business days. We also stock aftermarket equivalents from Techo-Bloc and Belgard when OEM stock runs short. You won’t wait weeks. If we don’t have your paver on hand, we’ll tell you the exact lead time before you commit to anything.
Call (850) 801-8046 and ask about your specific Therma-Tru series. We’ll check our truck stock while you’re on the phone.
