Cambridge Pavers Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Cambridge Pavers fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 for a complete perimeter fence, including the paver column footings and wall sections that make Cambridge systems stand out from standard vinyl or wood fencing. We stock the Cambridge-compatible posts, caps, and wall blocks on our trucks, so most Miami jobs are measured, priced, and scheduled within one visit. Where we see most failures is at the base course, where South Florida’s sandy soil and summer downpours undermine the original install and the fence starts leaning or separating at the paver joints.
If you’re reading this, you probably have a Cambridge paver fence that shifted after a storm, a gate post that’s now out of plumb, or paver columns cracking where the fence rails tie in. You want it fixed without a contractor telling you the whole fence needs to come down. Fair. Some of it can be rebuilt in place, and some of it does need a full reset. We’ll tell you which, with a written price before we touch anything.
Which Cambridge Pavers Models This Applies To

Cambridge Pavingstones makes three fence-relevant product lines we work with regularly in Miami: the Maytrx wall system, the Sherwood and Ledgestone series for column wraps, and their standard wall blocks used in freestanding fence bases. The compatibility gotcha we see constantly is that Maytrx blocks only seat correctly with Maytrx-compatible caps, and swapping in a generic 6-inch cap from another brand leaves a visible overhang and a weak bond line. Same goes for the Sherwood columns: the corner units are left-hand and right-hand specific, not interchangeable, and using the wrong one forces the whole column out of square.
The honest comparison for Cambridge pavers is OEM versus quality aftermarket equivalents. Cambridge runs tight dimensional tolerances on their block heights, which matters because a 1/16-inch difference per course compounds over six or seven courses and leaves your cap line visibly wavy. You can use aftermarket block that matches the nominal size, but we’ve had to tear out more than one “bargain” repair in Coral Gables where the block heights drifted enough that the cap wouldn’t sit flat. For fence installations, we install Cambridge-compatible block for the structural courses and use Cambridge caps where the visual line matters. If the paver columns are purely decorative wraps and the structural post is pressure-treated or steel, you have more flexibility; if the paver wall is the structure, we recommend staying with spec’d block.
Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent contractor, not affiliated with Cambridge Pavingstones, but our crews have installed and repaired their fence systems across Miami-Dade and Broward for years.

Signs Your Cambridge Pavers Fence Installation Is Failing
- Leaning columns at the gate. The gate’s daily swing puts lateral load on the paver column, and once the base course shifts even a half-inch in sandy soil, the whole column visibly leans. Left alone, the paver joints crack and the gate drags.
- Separated paver joints mid-wall. Miami’s wet-dry cycle causes the base material to settle unevenly under long fence runs, so the middle of a wall drops and opens horizontal cracks. This is a base-failure signal, not a paver problem.
- Cap stones loose or missing. The cap adhesive eventually oxidizes in Miami sun and humidity. You’ll see caps that ring hollow when tapped, or have already slid off. It starts cosmetic but lets water into the column core.
- Fence rail pulling out of the paver column. Metal fence brackets anchored into paver cores work loose over time, especially with aluminum fence sections that expand and contract. You’ll see a gap growing between the rail end and the paver face.
- Efflorescence and spalling at the base. White chalky deposits at the paver base mean water is wicking through the block. Over a few Miami summers, the face starts to flake and pit. That’s a drainage fix plus paver replacement, not a repaint project.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Installed Cambridge Pavers fence repair and replacement in Miami ranges from $4,130 for a partial rebuild of a failing section to $10,620 for a full perimeter fence reset with new paver footings. Here’s the line-item breakdown we put in every written quote:
- Base excavation and compaction: $950 to $2,200 depending on wall length and how much old base material needs hauling
- Paver block and cap material: $1,800 to $4,700 for Cambridge-compatible block, caps, adhesive, and core fill
- Labor and setting: $1,100 to $2,900 for the paver courses, column wraps, and fence rail reattachment
- Fence panel or rail work: $280 to $820 if fence sections need re-hanging, re-bracketing, or straightening
The range swings on wall length, whether we’re repairing in place or rebuilding from the base up, and the paver style. Sherwood and Ledgestone column wraps run higher because every corner unit is hand-fit. You get a line-item written price before work starts, and the number does not move at the invoice. The work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, on every job.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look at which direction the columns lean, check whether the fence rails are still tight in the paver cores, and note where water pools after rain. That information helps us quote faster.
What you should not do is pull caps off and start re-setting block. The cap adhesive on Cambridge columns holds the top course in place, and prying it off without bracing the fence rail can yank the entire top assembly loose. More importantly, if the base course has shifted, re-stacking caps is a temporary fix that fails the next time a Miami thunderstorm saturates the ground. The real repair is excavation, recompaction, and re-coursing, and that’s what we do. Luca Romano has been swinging hammers on Miami job sites long enough to know a leaning paver column is rarely just a paver problem. Good work doesn’t need a sales pitch. FAQs

A properly installed Cambridge paver fence base should last 20 to 30 years in Miami, while the fence panels and brackets last 10 to 15 years depending on salt proximity and sun exposure. Failures we see at the 5 to 8-year mark are almost always drainage-related, not paver-related. If your base is failing early, the fix is in the footing, not the block. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll diagnose it.
Most leaning columns can be repaired in place if the base is still compacting correctly and only the upper courses shifted, which runs toward the lower end of the $4,130 to $10,620 range. If the column has dropped more than an inch or the paver joints are cracked through multiple courses, the reliable fix is a rebuild from the base plate up. We’ll tell you which one you have, and the quote will show exactly what we’re doing.
A partial paver fence repair in Miami is usually completed in one to two days; a full perimeter fence rebuild with new paver footings takes three to five days depending on wall length and grass or hardscape access. Material lead time for Cambridge-compatible block is typically in stock or under a week locally. When you schedule, you get live arrival time tracking and before-and-after photo updates through The Relay Standard, because nobody should sit at home wondering if the crew got lost.
We stock Cambridge-compatible wall block, corner units, caps, and fence brackets on our trucks for the most common Miami fence installations. For Sherwood and Ledgestone column wraps with custom cap profiles, we order from our local Miami masonry supplier, which usually turns around in under a week. You don’t have to source anything yourself. Call (850) 801-8046 for a free estimate and we’ll handle the parts.
