Dvele Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide

Dvele fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 installed, depending on the fence line length, materials matched to your Dvele home’s exterior spec, and whether we’re replacing a failed section or running a full perimeter. Most Dvele owners call us after a storm has pulled posts loose, or a gate has started sagging against its hinges, or the salt air has eaten through hardware that looked fine two years ago. The good news: we stock Dvele-compatible fence hardware and panels on our trucks, so most repairs and replacements happen in a single visit.

Here’s the thing most people don’t realize about Dvele homes in Miami. Dvele builds to a tight architectural standard, which means the fence isn’t a generic picket line from a big-box store. The posts, panel widths, and gate hardware are specified for the home’s design package. When a section fails and you patch it with whatever the hardware store had on the shelf, it shows. It doesn’t sit right, it doesn’t weather the same, and a year later you’re looking at another repair. We match the fence to what Dvele specified, not just what’s convenient.

Which Dvele Models This Applies To

Dvele’s fence and enclosure specs vary by home series and build year, and we’ve worked on enough of them across Miami to know the differences. The most common Dvele homes we see with fence work are from their IQ series and the earlier Dvele line built between roughly 2018 and 2023. The fence style on these homes tends toward clean horizontal slat panels or a board-on-board vertical profile, usually in a composite or thermally treated wood that holds up better in Miami humidity than untreated cedar ever would.

If you’re not sure which fence spec your Dvele was built with, check two places. First, look at the original home spec sheet or finish schedule from your closing documents; Dvele includes exterior material callouts there. Second, look at the back side of a fence panel or the inside face of a gate; Dvele often stamps or labels the panel manufacturer and profile code there. If the label’s faded out, take a photo of the fence line from a few angles and send it to us. We can typically identify the profile from the panel dimensions and post spacing.

One compatibility gotcha worth knowing: Dvele fence posts on many Miami builds are set deeper than standard Florida code requires, which is great for wind resistance, but it means a “universal” replacement post from a supply yard often comes up short. We order post stock to the length the home actually needs, not the length a distributor happens to carry. OEM parts are available through Dvele’s supplier network, but lead times can stretch to three or four weeks. For most replacements, we recommend a quality aftermarket equivalent that matches the profile and finish; it gets you back to whole faster and at a better price.

We’re an independent Miami contractor. We’re not affiliated with Dvele, and we don’t pretend to be. We just know their fence specs well enough to replace a section without it looking like a patch job.

Signs Your Dvele Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Posts leaning or pulling loose. Miami’s wet season saturates the soil, and a post that was set correctly can still shift if drainage around the footer has changed. Once a post leans more than a couple degrees, the whole panel line starts pulling against the neighbors.
  • Gate dragging or not latching. This is usually a hinge wear problem, not a panel problem. The salt air in Miami corrodes gate hardware fast, and once the hinge bushings wear, the gate drops just enough to catch on the latch plate.
  • Panels warping or cupping at the edges. Composite panels don’t rot, but they do expand and contract with Miami’s heat. If a panel was installed without proper expansion gaps, it will cup at the edges and start pulling against the fasteners.
  • Fastener heads popping or rust staining. If you see rust streaks running down a panel face, the fasteners were never rated for coastal exposure. This is the most common issue we see on Dvele fences within a mile or two of Biscayne Bay.
  • Bottom rail rot or separation. On wood Dvele fences, the bottom rail sits close to ground level and takes the brunt of splashback during Miami downpours. Once the rail separates from the post, the panel loses its structural connection and starts waving in the wind.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A single-story rear room addition with tall windows and a new patio

For a Dvele fence installation in Miami, we price most jobs between $4,130 and $10,620 fully installed. The range comes down to three things: linear footage of fence line, the panel and post material spec, and whether we’re doing a full replacement or a targeted section repair with gate hardware.

Every fence estimate from Sawyer Remodel Miami includes the cost of materials, labor, demolition and haul-away of the failed section, post setting, panel installation, and gate alignment. We write the line-item price before we start, and that number is the number you approve. No change orders because we “discovered” something mid-job. If we open up a post hole and find a surprise, we show you the photo, tell you what it means, and get your sign-off before adding a dollar to the invoice.

Our work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If a post shifts, a gate sags, or a panel pulls loose within the first year, we come back and make it right. No argument, no invoice.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check your fence yourself. Walk the line after a storm and look for loose posts. Open and close the gate and watch whether it drags. Push gently on each panel and see if the fasteners flex. That’s useful information to have before you call us.

What isn’t safe is pulling a post yourself. A Dvele fence post set to Miami wind-load depth is often three to four feet in the ground, and pulling it without the right equipment is a back injury waiting to happen. The same goes for resetting a gate under tension; if the frame is twisted, that spring-loaded hinge can snap when you loosen it. We’ve taken over enough DIY fence repairs in Miami to know that a panel that “just needed a new hinge” is usually hiding a rotted post or a shifted footer.

Good work doesn’t need a sales pitch. If the fence is wobbling, call us before it becomes the neighbor’s problem too.
