Boxabl Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If your Boxabl sits on a driveway or paver pad that’s cracking, sinking, or pooling water after a Miami downpour, here’s the straight answer: we install Boxabl-compatible paver and concrete driveways across Miami for $8,260 to $21,240, and most paver repairs run well under that. The typical failure we see in Miami isn’t the Boxabl itself. It’s the ground under it heaving, the pavers shifting, or a concrete slab that was poured too thin for Florida’s limestone and sand. You’ll usually notice it after a heavy rain. A new low spot appears. Water sits against the foundation edge. Or a paver row tilts just enough that you catch your toe on it.
Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent contractor. We’re not affiliated with Boxabl, but we work on Boxabl sites across Miami regularly, and we know what these units ask of the ground they sit on.
Which Boxabl Models This Applies To

Every Boxabl model, from the Casita to any custom configuration, lands on the same basic foundation requirement: a level, compacted pad that drains water away from the unit. What changes is the pad size and the load spread. A Boxabl Casita needs roughly a 20-foot by 20-foot minimum footprint for the unit plus access. The driveway approach adds more. If you’re not sure what size pad you have or need, check the site plan that came with your Boxabl purchase, or measure edge to edge where the unit currently rests.
On parts, what most owners don’t realize is that Boxabl doesn’t manufacture the driveway or pavers beneath the unit. That’s site work done by local contractors, which means you’re choosing between generic concrete, standard 60mm pavers from local Miami suppliers, or 80mm pavers if you’re parking anything heavier than a pickup. For a Boxabl specifically, we recommend 80mm interlocking concrete pavers over a 6-inch compacted base. The added depth handles the concentrated load points where the Boxabl’s steel frame meets the pad. Thin 40mm pavers crack under those point loads within two or three Miami summers. Ask us how we know.

Signs Your Boxabl Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Pavers tilting at the edges of the pad. This usually means the edge restraint wasn’t installed or has failed. Water gets under the pavers, erodes the sand, and the outside row starts to sink and tip.
- Hairline cracks running in straight lines across a concrete driveway. Straight cracks follow the control joints or the Boxabl’s frame load lines. If the joints weren’t cut deep enough, the slab cracks wherever it wants instead.
- Water pooling against the Boxabl’s base rail after rain. Your pad should slope 1/4 inch per foot away from the unit. If it doesn’t, that standing water starts wicking into the unit’s bottom edge and the steel starts rusting.
- Sand washing out from between paver joints. After a hard Miami storm, you’ll see little sand fans at the low end of the driveway. Polymeric sand was either skipped or the wrong type was used.
- A paver or slab edge that’s noticeably higher than its neighbor. This is heaving, and in Miami it’s almost always from tree roots or poor base compaction. Florida’s sandy soil doesn’t settle evenly unless it’s compacted in lifts.
None of these get better with time. They get worse every time a storm rolls through.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Miami, a full paver driveway for a Boxabl site runs $8,260 to $21,240 installed. A concrete driveway for the same footprint lands at $5,310 to $14,160. If you’re just replacing a section of failed pavers, you’re typically in the $4,130 to $12,980 range depending on square footage and whether we’re reusing or replacing the base material.
| Miami Boxabl Driveway Work | Typical Installed Range |
|---|---|
| Paver driveway installation (full) | $8,260 – $21,240 |
| Concrete driveway installation | $5,310 – $14,160 |
| Driveway replacement (tear-out included) | $5,900 – $16,520 |
| Paver patio or partial pad repair | $4,130 – $12,980 |
| Driveway sealing (concrete) | $295 – $825 |
Every quote includes tear-out of the failed section, base prep and compaction, the pavers or concrete, edge restraint, and cleanup. We hand you a written price before any work starts, and it doesn’t change at the door. If a driveway repair fails in the first year, the 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the fix. No argument, no phone tag.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely reset a single shifted paver if the base under it is still solid. You cannot safely fix a driveway that’s sinking because the base was never compacted, or pour a new slab thick enough to carry a Boxabl’s point loads without the right forms, rebar, and a proper mix. That’s concrete work. If the mix is wrong or the base is soft, you’ve just bought a very expensive do-over. The same goes for moving a Boxabl to fix the pad underneath. That’s heavy equipment work, and the unit wasn’t designed to be moved by a farm jack and a prayer.

FAQs

A properly installed paver driveway in Miami should last 25 to 30 years with regular joint sand top-ups and the occasional paver replacement. A concrete driveway should last 20 to 30 years if it’s poured at 4 inches with rebar and proper control joints. What kills pads early in Miami is skipping the base work. Florida soil is sand and limestone, and it moves when it gets wet. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll check what’s under your current pad before you spend on a new surface.
Yes, if the base is still good, we can spot-replace broken pavers, re-level low sections, and re-sand the joints for far less than a full replacement. If the base is washed out or the concrete is cracked through the slab thickness, repair money is wasted money. We’ll tell you which one you have.
A full paver driveway for a Boxabl site typically takes three to five working days from tear-out to final compaction. Concrete takes two to three days for the pour and finish, plus about a week of cure time before you park anything on it. We’ll give you a real schedule in writing before the first tool comes off the truck.
We stock standard 60mm and 80mm concrete pavers through our Miami suppliers, and we can match most existing paver styles if you’re patching. We also work with Cambria, Silestone, and KraftMaid materials on larger projects, but for Boxabl pads, our go-to pavers are the heavy interlocking concrete units that hold up under frame point loads. We bring what the job needs.
