Quartz & Granite Countertops in Miami, FL

Quartz and granite countertops in Miami typically run $55 to $120 per square foot installed, with most kitchens landing between $2,800 and $6,500 all-in. That’s the honest range before we even see your layout. Sawyer Remodel Miami installs both materials with a written price locked in before any cutting starts, so the number you approve is the number on the final invoice.

We cut and fit quartz and granite for full kitchen remodels, island replacements, and countertop-only upgrades across Miami. If you’re already planning a larger remodel, this work rolls directly into our Kitchen Remodeling in Miami service. If all you need is new counters, we do that as a standalone job, no upsell required.

Call (850) 801-8046 and you’ll get a live person on the line, not a voicemail tree. Tell us your rough dimensions and material preference, and we’ll get you a ballpark over the phone, then a written quote after we measure.

When You Need Quartz & Granite Countertops

You’ll know it’s time. Here’s what we hear most often from Miami homeowners before they call us:

  • Your laminate or tile counters are lifting at the seams. Florida humidity does a number on laminate adhesive. Once the edges curl near the sink, water gets underneath and the substrate starts swelling. In older Miami homes, we see this constantly around the dishwasher seam.
  • The cooktop no longer fits flush. If your original cutout is off even an eighth of an inch, or you’ve swapped appliances and the new range sits proud or drops below the counter line, a new slab with a precise cutout is the fix.
  • You’re selling and the kitchen is the weak link. Realtors in Coral Gables and Brickell will tell you the same thing we’ve seen on dozens of pre-listing projects: dated Formica reads rental, not owned. Quartz changes that perception immediately.
  • Stains won’t come out of your current surface. Granite that was sealed a decade ago and never resealed soaks up olive oil, coffee, and wine. If the stone looks blotchy after cleaning, sealing won’t reverse it. Replacement is the real fix.
  • You want an island that actually works. A larger overhang for seating, a waterfall edge, or a built-in drainboard requires a new slab. Quartz handles these fabrications better than most materials, and it’s what we recommend for Miami kitchens with bar-height seating.

Our Quartz & Granite Countertops Process

Here’s how it runs, start to finish. No mystery steps, no surprises at the invoice.

  1. Call and get a real person. You reach us at (850) 801-8046. We ask about your kitchen size, current counter condition, and whether you’re replacing appliances. Based on that call, we give you a working price range on the spot.
  2. We measure and template. A technician visits your home with a laser templating system. We mark exact cutouts for sink, cooktop, and faucet holes. This step eliminates the “close enough” fit you get from contractors who eyeball it.
  3. You get a written price before any slab is cut. This isn’t optional and it isn’t an upgrade. The Relay Visibility Guarantee means a line-item price lands in your hands, you approve it, and nothing changes unless you change the scope.
  4. Slab selection and fabrication. We work with Cambria and Caesarstone for quartz, plus direct-sourced granite slabs from Miami importers. You pick the exact slab, not just a sample chip. Then our fabricator cuts and polishes to the template.
  5. Install day with live arrival time. We send a live arrival window, not a four-hour vortex. The crew shows up in uniform, backgrounds checked. Typical install runs 4 to 7 hours depending on seam count and edge profile.
  6. Before-and-after photo updates. You get photos of the job while it’s in progress and when it’s done. If you’re at work during install, you’re not wondering what’s happening in your kitchen.

Quartz & Granite Countertops Pricing in Miami

Here’s the straight pricing picture for Miami and South Florida, based on slab cost, fabrication, and install labor. These are real ranges from recent local jobs, not catalog numbers.

Material / Grade Material Cost (per sq ft) Installed Cost (per sq ft) Typical Kitchen Total
Entry Quartz (Cambria, Caesarstone – Level 1) $45 – $60 $55 – $80 $2,800 – $4,200
Mid Quartz (Cambria, Caesarstone – Level 2) $60 – $85 $75 – $100 $4,000 – $5,800
High-End Quartz (Cambria Marble Look, Caesarstone Ultra) $85 – $125 $100 – $140 $5,500 – $8,000
Granite (Level 1-2, domestic or basic import) $40 – $65 $50 – $80 $2,600 – $4,500
Granite (Level 3+, exotic or bookmatched) $80 – $130 $90 – $150 $5,000 – $9,000
Fabrication add-ons (waterfall edge, mitered build-up) N/A $15 – $30 extra $300 – $1,200 per run
Sink cutout and under-mount install N/A $150 – $350 Included with most slabs

What moves the price:

  • Seams. An L-shaped kitchen or an island with a large overhang means more seams or a bigger slab. Fewer, longer slabs cost more because you’re buying more usable stone.
  • Edge profile. Standard eased or beveled edges are included. Ogee, bullnose, or mitered thick-edge looks add $15 to $30 per linear foot.
  • Backsplash. A 4-inch backsplash in the same stone adds $10 to $20 per square foot. Full-height quartz backsplash behind a range or sink can add $800 to $2,000.
  • Demolition and disposal. Removing old granite or tile and hauling it away runs $300 to $800 depending on the size of the job and whether your building requires special disposal handling. Miami condo buildings sometimes do.
  • Island overhang supports. If you want a 12-inch overhang for seating, we recommend steel brackets or corbels. That adds $200 to $600 including fabrication and hiding the support inside the slab build-up.

Every quote is free. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll give you a working number over the phone, then a written quote after measuring. No deposit required to get the written price.

Why Quartz vs. Granite for Miami Kitchens

We install both, and we’ll tell you straight when one beats the other. It depends on your kitchen, your cooking habits, and your tolerance for maintenance.

Quartz (Cambria, Caesarstone)

Quartz is an engineered stone: roughly 90% crushed quartz bonded with resin. It’s non-porous, so it never needs sealing, and it resists stains from coffee, wine, and citrus. That matters in Miami, where the humidity keeps kitchen surfaces damp and the cooking leans citrus-heavy. Quartz also gives you a consistent pattern, which is why it’s the first choice for modern and transitional kitchens in Brickell high-rises and newer Edgewater condos.

Downside: quartz can scorch if you set a hot pan directly on it without a trivet. It’s not repairable the way granite is if it chips. We always tell clients to use a trivet, full stop.

Granite

Granite is natural stone. Every slab is unique, which is why some homeowners won’t consider anything else. It handles heat directly from a pan without scorching, and it’s harder to scratch. Granite needs sealing once a year, and in Miami’s humidity you might reseal every 9 to 10 months if the kitchen sees heavy use. Skip the sealing and granite will stain, especially with oil-based spills.

Granite remains the better pick for traditional kitchens, Old Spanish or Mediterranean-style homes in Coral Gables and Shenandoah, and anyone who wants a surface they can put a hot Dutch oven on without thinking twice.

How Much Does Countertop Replacement Cost vs. a Full Kitchen Remodel in Miami?

Countertop replacement alone is the smart, lower-cost move when your cabinets are still solid and your layout works. In Miami, replacing counters only runs $2,800 to $8,000 for most kitchens. A full kitchen remodel with cabinets, counters, backsplash, and fixtures runs $25,000 to $70,000.

If your cabinet boxes are particleboard that has swollen from Miami humidity, new counters on top of them is wasted money. If the cabinets are plywood and still square, counters only is a legitimate play. We’ll tell you which camp you’re in when we measure, because we’re not going to sell you slabs that sit on cabinets that fail in two years.

Quartz & Granite Countertop Backsplashes in Miami

In Miami kitchens, the backsplash decision usually comes down to two options: a 4-inch slab-set backsplash in the same stone, or full-height runs that tile or slab up to the upper cabinets. We fabricate both.

A 4-inch backsplash is included on most slab quotes and keeps the transition from counter to wall clean. It also means you can paint the wall above without worrying about water line. Full-height quartz behind a cooktop is the more durable play against grease and steam, and it’s a modern look that reads especially well in Miami’s newer builds. With Klindex polishing to eliminate visible seams at corners, we can make a full-height quartz wall look nearly monolithic if you want that.

Tile backsplash is also an option if you want contrast. We work with Schluter edge trim (the metal strip that waterproofs and finishes where your tile meets the counter) for clean lines and zero grout cracking at the transition. If you’re doing tile, we spec Schluter profiles every time because they hold up to Miami’s moisture swings better than raw caulked edges.

What About Sink and Faucet Replacement During a Counter Install?

Countertops are the wrong time to keep an old sink and faucet. Since the slab has to be cut around the exact sink template, we almost always recommend upgrading both at install. We install under-mount sinks from Kohler and fixtures from Delta and Toto, all sourced direct so there’s no question about warranty. Under-mount is the standard for quartz and granite anyway; a top-mount rim on a new stone counter defeats the point.

If you want to keep your current sink, we can template around it, but if it’s more than a few years old, the edge seal will be the first point of failure. Replacing the sink during a counter install adds $250 to $800 including plumbing disconnect and reconnect, and it’s the smart money.

FAQs – Quartz & Granite Countertops

How much does it cost to install quartz countertops in Miami?

Quartz countertops in Miami run $55 to $140 per square foot installed, with most kitchen jobs landing between $2,800 and $6,500 depending on slab grade, edge profile, and seam count. High-end Cambria and Caesarstone slabs with waterfall edges and mitered build-ups push toward $8,000 on larger kitchens. Call (850) 801-8046 for a written quote; estimates are free and the number locks in before any slab is cut.

Is granite cheaper than quartz in Miami?

Yes, budget granite starts around $50 per square foot installed, about $5 to $15 less per square foot than entry quartz. However, mid-grade and exotic granite can surpass quartz: bookmatched or exotic granite slabs run $90 to $150 per square foot installed. The real cost difference over the lifespan is maintenance: quartz never needs sealing, while Miami’s humidity means granite resealing every 9 to 12 months runs $150 to $300 per visit if you hire it out.

How long does countertop installation take in Miami?

From measurement to completed install, expect 7 to 14 days. Templating takes 30 to 45 minutes on-site, fabrication runs 5 to 7 business days, and install day is typically 4 to 7 hours. If you’re doing a full kitchen with us, the countertop phase is scheduled after cabinet set and before plumbing fixture final connection, so the total timeline depends on the full project scope. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll give you a current timeline.

Does Sawyer Remodel Miami offer a warranty on countertop installation?

Yes. Every countertop install is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not done right, we make it right, backed in writing on every project. That includes seam separation, edge chips from our install, or a sink that wasn’t set correctly. If a repair fails within the year, we return free for a second visit. Call (850) 801-8046 and ask us to send over the written guarantee language before you book.

Can you install countertops in a Miami condo or high-rise?

Yes, and we do it regularly in Brickell, Edgewater, Downtown Miami, and Sunny Isles. Condo installs require building paperwork, freight elevator scheduling, and often limited working hours, which we handle end to end. Slab delivery for high-rises sometimes requires crane or swing-stage coordination if the slab exceeds freight elevator dimensions; we flag that during quoting so there’s no day-of surprise.

Should I replace countertops before selling my Miami home?

In most Miami neighborhoods, yes, especially if your current counters are laminate or dated tile. Quartz counters are one of the highest-perceived-value upgrades per dollar in a kitchen, and Realtors in neighborhoods like Coral Gables, Westchester, and Kendall consistently tell us it’s one of the first things buyers notice. A $3,500 to $5,000 counter project can offset well beyond that in negotiation leverage. We work with your listing timeline and can schedule install around staging and photography.
