Cambridge Pavers Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If your Cambridge Pavers driveway is sinking, cracking, or a section has started to heave from Miami’s wet season, we stock and install Cambridge Pavers-compatible replacements throughout Miami. A typical Cambridge paver driveway repair or selective replacement in Miami runs $826 – $2,124 for isolated sections, while a full paver driveway installation runs $8,260 – $21,240 depending on square footage, base prep, and pavers chosen. Most owners discover a failing paver section the hard way: a paver splits under a truck tire, a low spot holds standing water after a thunderstorm, or the sand joints wash out and weeds start pushing through.
We’re Sawyer Remodel Miami, and we’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Cambridge Pavers. What we bring to the table is straight talk on what’s actually wrong with your driveway, a written price before any work starts, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on the repair. Luca Romano runs our Miami operation and has seen every paver failure pattern this climate can throw at a driveway: from Coral Gables root intrusion to Brickell condos with settling base rock. Good work doesn’t need a sales pitch.
Which Cambridge Pavers Models This Applies To

Cambridge Pavers makes several product lines, and the compatibility details matter more in Miami than almost anywhere else. The three most common product families we service are:
- Maytrx / Ledgestone / RoundTable – These are Cambridge’s premium interlocking lines. They use Cambridge’s ArmorTec surface treatment, which matters because a non-ArmorTec paver imported from a big-box store will weather differently under Miami’s UV. You’ll see a visible sheen difference within six months.
- Cambridge Pavingstones with ArmorTec – The label on the original pallet or the back of an unused paver will have a date code. Cambridge molds change slightly run to run, so matching an 8-year-old paver to today’s production run needs the exact paver name, not just a color.
- Ledgestone XL / Maytrx XL – These XL lines are 50% thicker than standard pavers (some at 3 1/8 inches vs 2 3/8 inches). If someone installs a standard-thickness paver in an XL driveway, the difference shows immediately as a low spot.
The OEM versus aftermarket question is real here. Cambridge Pavers are manufactured in New Jersey. Shipping a pallet of OEM pavers to Miami adds cost and lead time, and some homeowners decide premium aftermarket pavers with matching aggregate and color are fine for repairs. Where we hold the line: base prep and drainage matter more than the paver brand. A Cambridge paver on bad base rock in Miami will fail exactly as fast as any other paver on bad base rock.

Signs Your Cambridge Pavers Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Standing puddles 20 minutes after rain stops. Miami’s rain falls hard and fast. If water no longer drains off the surface or through the joints, the base layer underneath has compacted or washed out. This is the early-warning sign every other problem follows.
- One or two pavers sit lower than the surrounding run. A single low paver usually means a broken paver below the surface or a small void in the bedding sand. A 3-foot dip across several pavers means the base rock shifted, which is a dig-up repair, not a paver swap.
- You can wiggle a paver with your foot. Loose pavers mean the edge restraint (the plastic or concrete strip holding the perimeter) has let go, and the whole field can start drifting under traffic. This spreads fast once it starts.
- Grass or weeds pushing up through joints. Miami’s growing season never stops. Once organic material takes root in the sand joints, it holds moisture against the paver edges and accelerates cracking during cooler months when pavers contract.
- White or chalky surface staining. On ArmorTec pavers, severe efflorescence indicates water is trapped beneath the surface. It is not just cosmetic in Miami’s humidity; it is evidence that drainage under the pavers has failed.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Paver driveway installation in Miami runs $8,260 – $21,240 for a standard two-car driveway. Selective repair work, where we cut out a failed section and reset it on new base material, runs $826 – $2,124 for most sections under 100 square feet. Paver patio installation runs $4,130 – $12,980 depending on size and shape.
- Parts: Cambridge-compatible pavers, bedding sand, 3/4-inch crushed stone base, edge restraints, joint sand with polymer additive for our humid climate.
- Labor: excavation, base compaction, paver cutting, installation, joint activation, cleanup.
- Disposal: haul-away of old pavers and failed base material.
- Written price: you approve the number before a single tool is picked up. Invoice matches the approval.
The main cost drivers in Miami are base depth and access. Driveways on reclaimed or sandy soil need deeper base rock than inland properties on solid limestone. If we can back a truck directly to the job, that keeps labor down; if materials need to be wheelbarrowed through a Coral Gables side gate, that adds labor. Every quote includes a written 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails within a year, we make it right. No argument, no re-quote.
DIY or Call Us?
Here is the honest split. You can safely check a few things. Watch where water pools after rain. Look at whether the paver edges along the driveway border are straight. Mark the low spots with chalk. But digging out pavers in Miami and resetting them without a plate compactor and proper base material will fail again, usually within one rainy season. Paver work is not dangerous the way overhead or electrical work is, but it is backbreaking, and the tolerance for error is small: a base off by half an inch becomes a visible wave in the driveway by August. When in doubt, call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll come look. Estimates are free.
FAQs

In Miami’s climate, a properly installed Cambridge Paver driveway lasts 25 – 35 years. What shortens that lifespan here is drainage failure under the pavers, not surface wear. If water can’t escape, the base washes out and the pavers fail within a few years.
If the paver is cracked but the base underneath is sound, we can remove the single paver, reset it with new bedding sand if the break is stable, or swap in a matching replacement if it is split through. If the base under that paver has failed, a one-paver fix will fail again. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you which one you have.
Most selective repairs under 100 square feet finish in one day. A full driveway installation runs three to five days. Miami’s afternoon thunderstorms can add a day to any job that needs dry joint sand, and we schedule around them rather than pretend they don’t exist.
We stock the most common Cambridge-compatible replacement pavers in Miami, but if you need an exact match for an older Cambridge production run, we order it and confirm the lead time in writing before you commit. Alongside paver work, we also handle parts and materials from KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for full remodel projects.
