CGI Kitchen Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
CGI kitchen remodeling in Miami typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 for a full kitchen rebuild, and Sawyer Remodel Miami installs CGI-compatible cabinetry, countertops, and hardware with most replacements completed in two to four weeks depending on scope. We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with CGI, but we work with their product lines daily. Most Miami homeowners call us after noticing a cabinet door that won’t stay closed, a drawer slide that grinds, or a countertop seam that’s started separating in the humidity. Those are the first signs the original kitchen is aging out of its useful life.
What surprises people is how fast a small failure becomes a full-kitchen problem. One warped door leads to water getting into the cabinet box. That leads to swollen MDF, which leads to a countertop that’s no longer level. Miami’s salt air and summer moisture accelerate all of it, especially in older CGI installs from the early 2000s.
Which CGI Models This Applies To

CGI kitchen cabinetry spans several series lines, and parts are not universally interchangeable across all of them. The most common lines we see in Miami homes are the CGI Essentials series, the CGI Select line, and the older CGI Classic builds that predate the 2015 hinge redesign. If you’re trying to match a replacement door or drawer front, the model number is usually printed on a sticker inside the cabinet box, on the underside of a drawer, or on the back of a door panel. Get a photo of that sticker before you order anything.
The compatibility gotcha most owners hit: CGI switched from a 35mm cup hinge to a 40mm cup hinge on Select line models after 2015. You cannot swap a pre-2015 door onto a post-2015 box without drilling new hinge cups, which is a furniture-shop job, not a Saturday DIY. For hardware and slides, OEM CGI parts hold up better than most aftermarket equivalents we’ve tested, but for door bumpers and shelf pins, quality aftermarket options work fine and cost less. We stock OEM CGI slides and hinges on the truck for the lines we install most, and we’ll tell you honestly when an aftermarket part is the smarter spend.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your CGI Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Doors that sag or won’t stay shut. This usually means the hinge cup has worn out or the screws have stripped from years of opening and closing in humid air. The door itself is often fine; the hardware is the failure point.
- Drawers that stick or grind. CGI drawer slides collect kitchen grease and dust, and once the ball bearings start binding, the whole drawer gets heavier every month. Miami’s moisture makes the lubricant break down faster than it would in a dry climate.
- Swollen or bubbling cabinet boxes. This is a water problem, not a hardware problem. In Miami, a leaking sink line or repeated steam from the stove eventually swells the MDF under the laminate. Once the box swells, you’re replacing cabinets, not repairing them.
- Countertop seams separating or discoloring. Laminate countertops on older CGI installs separate at the seam when humidity cycles push and pull the substrate. Cambria and Silestone solid surfaces don’t fail this way, which is why we recommend them for Miami kitchens.
- Soft-close mechanisms that stopped working. The cylinder inside the hinge fails eventually. This is the most common single-part failure in every CGI line we service, and it’s a five-minute fix if you have the right cylinder.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A full CGI kitchen remodel in Miami runs $16,520 to $53,100, with the spread driven by kitchen size, cabinet line choice, countertop material, and whether you’re changing the layout or keeping it. Here’s how the pieces break down:

| Full Kitchen Remodel | $16,520 – $53,100 |
| Small Kitchen Remodel | $10,620 – $23,600 |
| Cabinet Installation | $4,720 – $15,340 |
| Countertop Installation | $2,360 – $7,670 |

| Kitchen Island Installation | $3,540 – $11,800 |
Every quote we write in Miami includes the parts, the labor, the haul-away of old cabinets and counters, and a written price before we pick up a tool. No change orders at the end. No surprises on the invoice. If you’re keeping your existing layout, we can usually shave the project down to cabinet and counter replacement without touching plumbing or electrical, which keeps you at the lower end of the range.
Our workmanship warranty runs one year under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a hinge fails, a door sags, or a seam opens, we come back and fix it. Written on every project, no argument.

AfterDIY or Call Us?
If you’re replacing a hinge cylinder, a shelf pin, or a door bumper, that’s a reasonable DIY job if you have the exact part in hand. If you’re dealing with a swollen cabinet box, a failed countertop seam, or any cabinet that needs to be removed and reset, call us. Removing an upper cabinet without damaging the drywall or the cabinet itself is where weekend projects go sideways, and a dropped cabinet can hurt somebody.
Kitchen remodeling itself is not a DIY project. Cabinet installation requires leveling on uneven Miami slab floors, countertop templating has almost no margin for error, and backsplash tile in a humid kitchen needs proper backer and sealant or you’ll be chasing mold in two years. We’ll tell you the same thing we tell our own families: if you have to ask whether you should call someone, call someone. Call (850) 801-8046 and Luca or a member of the crew will walk you through what you’re looking at.
FAQs

CGI kitchen cabinets typically last 15 to 20 years in Miami homes, though cabinet boxes near the sink or dishwasher often fail earlier because of humidity and occasional water exposure. Door and drawer hardware usually needs replacement every 7 to 10 years regardless of the cabinet box condition. If your cabinets are past the 15-year mark and you’re looking at multiple part replacements, a full remodel is usually the better long-term investment. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll give you an honest assessment of what’s worth saving.
A swollen or water-damaged cabinet box generally cannot be repaired; the MDF substrate loses structural integrity once it absorbs water, and no amount of clamping or sealing will bring it back. In most cases, replacing the affected cabinet or the full run is the fix. We’ll tell you which applies to your kitchen before any money changes hands.
A full CGI kitchen remodel in Miami typically takes two to four weeks from demo to final walkthrough, depending on whether you’re changing the layout, moving plumbing, or working with custom countertop fabrication lead times. A cabinet-and-counter replacement with no layout changes usually lands closer to the two-week mark. We give you a written schedule before work starts and photo updates along the way, so you’re never guessing what’s happening at your own house.
We stock OEM CGI hinges, slides, and soft-close cylinders for the series lines we install most in Miami, and we can source cabinet doors and drawer fronts directly when a match is possible. If you’re trying to match a discontinued CGI Classic line part, we’ll tell you what’s still available and what we’d substitute instead. Call (850) 801-8046 with your cabinet sticker info and we’ll check our inventory right there on the phone.
