Why Miami Homeowners Choose Cover Construction
We provide independent Cover construction service across Miami, handling cabinet installation, refacing, and full kitchen remodels for the Classic, Pro, and Elite series. Our crews have completed over 200 Cover kitchen and bath projects in Miami, which means we know exactly how these cabinets fail in this climate and what fixes actually last. If you own Cover cabinets in Miami and they are warping, delaminating, or coming apart at the seams, we can tell you why it is happening and what a repair will cost before you commit to anything. Call (850) 801-8046 for a straight answer and a free estimate.
One thing up front: Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent Cover service provider. We are not authorized by or affiliated with the Cover brand. That said, the independence cuts both ways. We are not beholden to a manufacturer script, so when a Cover Classic cabinet is not worth saving, we will tell you that, and when an aftermarket hinge outperforms the original, we will install it without hesitation.
Why Trust Sawyer Remodel Miami for Your Cover Construction?

Cover cabinets have a specific build philosophy. Particleboard core boxes, thermally fused laminate surfaces, and a hardware package that varies by series. The Classic line is the most common in Miami’s mid-century condos and older concrete-block homes, and it is also the line that struggles most in this climate. The Pro series holds up better, but the drawer glides are the weak point. The Elite line is a different animal entirely, and we treat it that way.
We are not a handyman service that happened to land on Cover cabinets. We are a remodeling crew that has torn these boxes apart, rebuilt them, refaced them, and reinstalled them in kitchens from Coral Gables to Brickell. Luca Romano, our owner and lead contractor, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has been swinging hammers and running job sites for decades before bringing that experience to Miami. He is the one walking your kitchen, checking your hinge screws, and telling you whether a reface makes sense or a full replacement is the better spend. When the humidity is doing the damage, the diagnosis matters just as much as the repair.

Common Cover Construction Problems We Fix in Miami
Miami’s salt air and humidity are not kind to cabinet construction, and Cover cabinets show it in predictable ways. Here is what we see most often, series by series:
- Humidity-induced warping on Cover Classic door panels. Older Classic doors without edge banding absorb moisture through the exposed particleboard edges. The panel swells, the laminate separates, and the door starts to look bowed when viewed from the side. We see this constantly in un-air-conditioned kitchens or homes where the AC gets shut off during summer vacations. The fix is usually edge-banding replacement or full door replacement, depending on how far the swelling has gone.
- Laminate delamination at sink base cabinets. The sink cabinet is where every Cover Classic eventually shows its age. Condensation under the sink, slow plumbing leaks, and Miami’s ambient humidity all work on the laminate edges. Once water gets between the laminate and the particleboard core, the surface peels in sheets. We rebuild these boxes with marine-grade plywood when a reface is in the picture, because the original material will fail again in the same spot.
- Loose or stripped hinge screws on particleboard core doors. Cover’s particleboard cores do not hold screws well under repeated stress. A hinge screw that gets yanked loose once can often be re-seated once, but after the second strip, that hole is done. We fill and re-drill with hardwood dowels, or in severe cases, replace the door. The particleboard itself is the limitation, not the hardware.
- Drawer glide misalignment in Cover Pro series. The Pro series uses a more substantial glide than the Classic, but the mounting brackets are still attached to particleboard. When screws back out or the box shifts, the glides fall out of parallel and the drawer starts to stick, bind, or sit uneven. Adjusting the glide helps temporarily, but if the screw holes are stripped, the box side needs attention, not just a screwdriver.
- Corrosion on cabinet hardware near coastal windows and doors. Miami’s salt air accelerates rust on hinges, drawer pulls, and mounting plates. We see this most often in units within a few blocks of the water, where the breeze carries salt straight into the kitchen. Nickel and stainless hardware fares better, but the original hardware on some Cover lines was never meant for marine exposure.
Cover Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

When a Cover cabinet fails, the first question is always: repair or replace? We do not make that call based on what is easier for us. We look at the age of the cabinet, the condition of the box, and the cost of parts versus the cost of a new cabinet or reface.
We source genuine Cover parts when the job calls for them, especially on warranty-covered repairs where OEM parts keep the claim clean. When the original part is the reason the cabinet failed in the first place, we are upfront about that too. A hinge that stripped out once will strip out again if we put the same hinge back in the same particleboard. In those cases, we use high-quality aftermarket components that match or exceed Cover’s specs. The goal is a repair that survives Miami’s humidity, not one that looks good for three months and fails again. If a reface or replacement is more cost-effective than repeated repairs, we will tell you that before any work starts. Call (850) 801-8046 if you want an honest read on whether your Cover cabinets are worth saving.
Our Cover Service Process – Step by Step
We run Cover work the same way we run our General Contractor services under The Relay Visibility Guarantee. You know the price, you know who is coming, and you see the work before and after. Here is the sequence:
- 1
Diagnosis. We inspect the cabinet, the hinge, the drawer glide, or the delaminated panel in person. We identify the series (Classic, Pro, Elite, or Custom), the failure mode, and what caused it. For Miami kitchens, the cause is usually moisture intrusion or salt-air corrosion, not normal wear. You get a written report on what we found and what we recommend.
- 2
Written price. Before any tool leaves the truck, you have a written price for the repair, reface, or replacement. The number on the invoice is the number you approved. No change orders for parts we forgot to mention.
- 3
Repair or install. We do the work with the right materials: genuine Cover parts where they make sense, upgraded aftermarket components where they outperform, and marine-grade plywood where the original particleboard is the problem. Every cut is measured, every screw is set properly, and nothing gets left half-installed.
- 4
Test and inspection. We cycle every drawer, open and close every door, and check alignment with the cabinet frame. If something catches or sticks, we fix it before we call the job done. We send photo updates before and after so you see the final result even if you are not home.
- 5
Warranty. Every Cover repair and install carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If it is not done right, we make it right. No argument, no callbacks to chase us down.

AfterCover Products We Service & Install in Miami
We work on the full Cover range here in Miami Gardens and across the city: the Cover Classic series, the Cover Pro series, the Cover Elite series, and the Cover Custom line. That means refacing Classic cabinet boxes in older condos, rebuilding Pro drawer glides in newer kitchens, installing Elite line cabinets in full remodels, and handling custom Cover pieces where the original order was sized for a specific wall run. We stock common hinge replacements, glide components, laminate sheets for refinishing, and touch-up materials locally so we are not waiting on a shipment to finish a repair. For full installations and refaces, we pull from our partnerships across the board, including KraftMaid, Cambria, Silestone, and Kohler, so your Cover project gets the right supporting materials without a supply-chain guessing game.
We Also Service These Brands
Cover is not the only manufacturer we know inside and out. We also install and service KraftMaid, Cambria, Silestone, and Kohler products across Miami. If your kitchen has a mix of brands, or you are considering a reface that pairs Cover boxes with different countertops and fixtures, we handle the whole scope without subbing out the tricky parts.
FAQs – Cover Construction Service in Miami

No. Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent Cover service provider, not an authorized dealer or warranty center. That means we are free to make repair and replacement calls based on what is best for your kitchen, not what a manufacturer program requires. If a warranty claim requires OEM parts, we can source genuine Cover parts and handle the repair in a warranty-compatible way. Call (850) 801-8046 with your cabinet details and we will tell you how the warranty fits your situation.
Yes, in almost every case. The original Cover Classic finishes are standard laminate colors that we can match using high-pressure laminate sheets from our material partners. We recently refaced a Cover Classic kitchen in Coral Gables after the original laminate started peeling at the toe-kick and lower door edges. We rebuilt the cabinet boxes with marine-grade plywood, applied new high-pressure laminate matching the Cover factory finish, and upgraded the hinges to soft-close. The client got a uniform look that handled Miami’s humidity better than the original. The only finishes that give us trouble are discontinued ones that were custom-ordered years ago. If you send us a photo, we can tell you over the phone whether a match is realistic. Call (850) 801-8046.
Usually yes, especially on Cover Classic and Cover Pro islands. The standard cabinet boxes are built for laminate tops, which distribute weight differently than a 2cm or 3cm stone slab. When we install quartz or granite on a Cover island, we add internal bracing and sometimes a plywood subtop to prevent sag and cracking at the seams. It is a few hundred dollars in materials and labor, and it is the difference between a countertop that lasts 20 years and one that cracks in five. We include this in the written quote before any work starts. Call (850) 801-8046 for an exact number.
We start by removing the damaged laminate and assessing how deep the water went. If the particleboard core is swollen or crumbling, we cut it out and rebuild the affected panels with marine-grade plywood, which does not absorb moisture the way particleboard does. Then we apply new laminate matched to the original finish and seal the edges properly. If the damage is bad enough that the box is structurally compromised, we tell you that a new sink base cabinet makes more sense than a rebuild. Miami’s humidity means the fix has to be waterproof, not just cosmetic. Call (850) 801-8046 and we will take a look.
Depends on the failure. A misaligned glide with intact screw holes can usually be realigned and re-tightened. A glide with stripped screw holes in the particleboard side needs the holes rebuilt, which we do with hardwood dowels or a metal bracket depending on the box condition. If the glide itself is bent or the ball bearings are shot, we replace the glide assembly. The hardware is not expensive; the labor is the variable. We will tell you which situation you have before quoting the job. Call (850) 801-8046.
Here is the pricing structure for Cover work in Miami, based on what we have completed over the years:
| Service | Price Range |
|---|---|
| Cabinet Installation | $4,720 – $15,340 |
| Countertop Installation | $2,360 – $7,670 |
| Kitchen Remodel | $16,520 – $53,100 |
These ranges cover standard Cover cabinet scopes in Miami, including labor, materials, and the written price guarantee. A small reface of a few Cover Classic doors might land at the lower end, while a full Cover Elite kitchen with new countertops and hardware climbs toward the top. Every quote is line-itemed so you see exactly what you are paying for. Call (850) 801-8046 for a free estimate on your specific Cover project, and you will have a written number in hand before any work starts.
