CWS Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If your CWS driveway or paver surface is cracking, sinking, or pulling away at the edges, we install and repair CWS-compatible driveway and paver systems throughout Miami, with most paver repairs running $4,130 to $12,980 installed and full driveway replacement landing between $5,900 and $16,520 depending on square footage and base condition. We stock common CWS paver sizes and matching edge restraints on our trucks, so a repair call usually means one visit, not three. Most Miami homeowners discover the problem the hard way: a paver shifts underfoot after a heavy rain, a low spot turns into a puddle that never dries, or the driveway edge starts crumbling into the lawn. The part didn’t fail overnight. It failed quietly for months, and the weather finally exposed it.
Which CWS Models This Applies To

CWS driveway and paver systems in Miami typically fall into one of three product lines: their standard concrete interlocking pavers (most common in residential driveways), their permeable paver line, and their larger-format slab pavers used for patios and walkways. Each line uses different joint widths and base requirements, so matching the replacement paver to the original matters more than most people expect. A paver that’s off by even 3/16 of an inch in thickness will sit proud of the surrounding surface, and you’ll feel it every time you walk across it.
Here’s what to check before you call: flip over a loose paver and look for the mold stamp on the back. CWS stamps most of their pavers with a production code that identifies the mold series. If the stamp is worn off, measure the paver’s length, width, and thickness with a tape measure. We can match almost any CWS paver from those three numbers alone. On the OEM versus aftermarket question: for CWS pavers specifically, we recommend OEM or exact-match replacements for visible surface work because color variation drives Miami homeowners crazy. For subsurface components like base rock, sand, and edge restraints, a quality aftermarket equivalent performs identically and costs less. We’ll always tell you which is which before you spend a dollar.
Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent service provider and not affiliated with CWS. We work on their systems every week, but we’re not the manufacturer, and we don’t pretend to be.

Signs Your CWS Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Pavers shifting or rocking underfoot. That wiggle means the sand joint between pavers has washed out. In Miami’s rainy season, this accelerates fast. Once the sand goes, the pavers start grinding against each other and chipping at the edges.
- Standing water that lingers 24 hours after rain. A properly installed paver driveway drains within a few hours. Puddles mean the base underneath has settled or the slope was pitched wrong from the start. In Miami, standing water also breeds mosquitoes, so it’s not just a driveway problem.
- Edges crumbling or spreading at the driveway border. Without a solid edge restraint, pavers migrate outward under vehicle weight. You’ll see a widening gap between the driveway and your lawn or the paver edge turning into a jagged line.
- White, chalky film on the paver surface. That’s efflorescence, and while it’s more cosmetic than structural, it’s a sign moisture is moving through the paver. In Miami’s humidity, efflorescence on CWS pavers usually means the sub-base drainage isn’t keeping up.
- Sinkholes or low spots forming in the tire tracks. This is the one that signals real base failure. The sand and gravel under the pavers has compacted unevenly or washed out entirely. You can re-level individual spots early, but once the base goes, you’re looking at a partial rebuild rather than a cosmetic fix.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Paver patio installation in Miami runs $4,130 to $12,980, and paver driveway installation lands between $8,260 and $21,240. Driveway replacement, which includes tearing out the old surface and rebuilding the base, falls between $5,900 and $16,520 depending on whether we’re working over existing pavers, concrete, or asphalt. What separates the low end from the high end isn’t mystery pricing. It’s square footage, how much of the base is still sound, paver style, and whether we need to haul away the old material.
Every quote we write includes parts, labor, base material if needed, haul-away, and final sanding and compaction. You get a written price before any work starts. That number is the number you approve, and that’s the number on your invoice. No change orders because we “found something” at hour six. If the repair fails within 365 days, we come back and make it right under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s not a sales line. It’s in writing on every project.
DIY or Call Us?
For paver work, there are a few things you can safely check yourself. You can sweep new polymeric sand into joints that are lightly worn, and you can hose down a stained paver to assess whether the color has actually changed or it’s just surface dirt. But once pavers start shifting, or you have low spots forming in a CWS driveway, DIY gets expensive in the other direction. Homeowners typically re-level a few pavers, skip compacting the base because it’s tedious, and six months later the same low spot is back, now with cracked pavers on top of it.
Paver base work is not dangerous like spring or electrical work, but it is brutally physical and easy to get wrong. If you’re lifting more than a few pavers, you need a plate compactor, the right base rock, and the patience to rebuild in lifts. Most Miami homeowners would rather not rent a compactor for a weekend and still have a driveway that looks like a quilt. That’s when you call us at (850) 801-8046.
FAQs

In Miami’s climate, CWS concrete pavers typically last 20 to 30 years on the surface, but the sand joints and base usually need attention every 5 to 7 years. The pavers themselves rarely fail. The system around them does. UV exposure fades color over time, but our humidity and rain are what wear down the joint sand and wash out the base. If you stay on top of joint sanding and keep your edge restraints intact, the pavers themselves will outlast most roofing systems on your house. Call (850) 801-8046 if you’re unsure whether your driveway needs maintenance or a rebuild. Estimates are free.
A cracked paver can almost always be swapped for a matching replacement, and that’s a small repair, not a driveway rebuild. The catch is that if your pavers have been in the Miami sun for a decade, they’ve faded, and a brand-new paver will stand out. We can sometimes pull a paver from a less visible area, like behind a planter or along a side return, and rotate it into the visible spot. It’s a painter’s trick applied to pavers. Call (850) 801-8046 for an exact quote. We’ll tell you honestly whether a color match will look right before you commit.
Most isolated paver repairs, like fixing a low spot or replacing a cracked paver, take 4 to 8 hours on site. A full paver driveway tear-out and rebuild in Miami typically runs 3 to 5 working days depending on the size and whether we’re hauling out old concrete. We’ll give you a written timeline when we quote the job, and you’ll get photo updates before and after so you can see the work without standing over our shoulders. Call (850) 801-8046 to schedule a free estimate and get a real date on the calendar.
We stock the most common CWS paver sizes and colors on our trucks, along with matching edge restraints and joint sand. If you have a less common series or a discontinued color, we can usually source it within a week through our Miami supplier network. The fastest way to find out is to text a photo of your paver next to a tape measure to (850) 801-8046. That one photo usually tells us whether this is a same-day fix or a special order.
