Delta Bathroom Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Delta bathroom remodeling in Miami typically runs $10,620 to $33,040 for a full install, with smaller refreshes like a vanity swap or shower replacement falling between $945 and $10,030 depending on scope. If your Delta fixture has failed, started leaking at the cartridge, or the finish is flaking off after years of hard Miami water, we usually diagnose it in one visit and have the replacement part or a full remodel plan priced in writing before we leave. Most Miami homeowners call us when a Delta valve starts leaking behind the wall, a showerhead splits at the threads, or the tub spout diverter stops sending water up to the shower.
Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent contractor, not affiliated with Delta Faucet Company. We stock Delta-compatible parts and install them daily, but we don’t factory-warranty the part itself. Here’s the deal: if the problem is a cartridge, a trim kit, or a showerhead, we can usually swap it same-day from our truck stock. If the problem is the valve body or the plumbing behind it, you’re looking at a larger bathroom remodel, not a parts run.
Which Delta Models This Applies To

Delta’s bathroom line splits into a few families, and the part you need depends on which one you have. The Monitor 13/14 series and the newer MultiChoice universal valve are the two most common in Miami homes built after 2005. The MultiChoice valve body accepts nearly every Delta trim kit made in the last 15 years, which is a real advantage if you want to change the look without opening the wall. The older Monitor 13/14 series is more limited; that valve was discontinued in most markets, and replacement trim is getting harder to find in anything but chrome.
Identifying your model takes about 30 seconds. Pop the handle off, and you’ll see a cartridge that either has blue and white plastic tabs or a brass body. The brass-body cartridge, model RP19804, fits the MultiChoice valve. The plastic cartridge, RP32104 or RP25513, fits the older Monitor line. Miami-specific gotcha: hard water here eats Delta’s rubber seals faster than the national average. If you’re replacing a cartridge every two or three years, the problem isn’t the cartridge, it’s the water. We install a whole-home water softener ahead of the bathroom remodel, and it doubles the life of every Delta seal and O-ring in the house.
For OEM vs aftermarket on Delta parts: OEM Delta cartridges run about $40 to $70 and last longer under Miami water conditions. Aftermarket equivalents cost half that but fail sooner. We stock OEM on the truck and won’t install aftermarket unless you specifically ask us to, and even then we’ll tell you why we don’t recommend it.

Signs Your Delta Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Drip from the spout hours after you shut off the water. This is almost always the cartridge. Delta cartridges wear out from mineral buildup, and the rubber seats inside lose their seal. We replace the cartridge, not the whole faucet.
- Finish flaking off the handle or escutcheon plate. Delta’s chrome and stainless finishes are solid, but their brushed nickel and champagne bronze show wear faster in Miami humidity. Once the finish goes, the metal underneath is exposed to salt air, and it gets worse fast.
- Temperature that spikes or drops when someone flushes a toilet. That’s the pressure-balancing spool inside the Delta valve, part RP22734 on the MultiChoice models. It’s a $30 part that takes us about 40 minutes to swap.
- Tub spout diverter stops sending water to the showerhead. The diverter is a wear item, especially in homes with kids who yank on it. The fix is a new tub spout, not a plumbing overhaul, and we stock three Delta spout styles on the truck.
- Water leaking from behind the wall but not from any visible fixture. This is the one that needs real attention. A cracked valve body or loose connection inside the wall is a remodel, not a parts swap. In Brickell condos especially, we cut access from the adjoining drywall rather than through your designer tile if we can.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s the ballpark for Miami. A Delta cartridge swap runs $175 to $300 installed, including the OEM part and the service call. A full trim kit replacement, which means new handles, escutcheon, tub spout, and showerhead, runs $500 to $1,200 depending on the finish and whether we’re matching an existing Delta style or swapping to a new one. A valve body replacement inside the wall starts around $1,800 and goes up from there, and that’s the point where most people start asking about a full bathroom remodel, which is the $10,620 to $33,040 number from the top of this page.
The range on a full Miami bathroom remodel comes down to three things: whether you’re keeping the existing footprint or moving plumbing, whether the tile is porcelain or stone, and what finish level you want on the fixtures. A Brickell condo bathroom with a glass walk-in shower and wall-hung vanity is going to land near the top. A Coral Gables hall bath with a tub surround and stock vanity lands near the bottom. Either way, the price we write is the price you pay. No change orders unless you change the scope.
Every Delta part we install comes with our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If it’s not done right, we make it right, free, for a full year. That’s not a maybe, it’s the invoice.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check a few things before you call. Confirm the water shutoff valves under the sink or behind the shower actually turn. See if the drip is hot or cold water, which tells us which Delta cartridge seat is worn. And look for the model number on the trim plate, usually printed on a sticker behind the escutcheon or stamped inside the handle. That’s useful. Don’t open the valve body yourself. Delta pressure-balancing valves are safe, not dangerous like a garage door spring, but the water supply is live unless you shut off at the main, and a wrong cartridge install floods a wall cavity in about ten seconds. We arrive with the right Delta cartridge already matched, the wall opened cleanly if we need to, and a written price before the first tool comes out. Call (850) 801-8046, and we’ll tell you over the phone what you’re likely looking at before we even schedule.
FAQs

In Miami water, a Delta cartridge typically lasts 5 to 8 years, and a Delta valve body will outlast the house. Hard water and humidity accelerate seal wear, so we recommend a water softener if you want to stretch that to 10-plus years.
Yes, most Delta bathroom problems are repairable. Cartridges, diverters, and pressure-balancing spools are all cheap parts that restore full function without touching your tile or drywall. We only push a full remodel when the valve body fails or you’re already unhappy with the layout.
A cartridge swap takes under an hour. A trim kit replacement takes two to three hours. A valve body replacement takes a day, plus drywall repair and paint if we have to open the wall, which we usually schedule for a second visit once the plumbing is confirmed sound.
We carry the Delta cartridges, spouts, showerheads, and trim plates that cover about 90% of the Miami install base on the truck. If your finish or model is special-order, it’s a two-to-three-day lead time, and we give you the exact date before we start.
No. If we open the wall and find something unexpected, we stop, show you what we found, and give you a new written price before we touch it. You approve it, or we close it back up. The original number doesn’t creep.
Call (850) 801-8046 for a free estimate on any Delta bathroom part or full remodel in Miami. Luca answers the phone or calls you back the same day, and the number we give you over the phone is the number on the invoice. Good work doesn’t need a sales pitch.
