KraftMaid Kitchen Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
KraftMaid kitchen remodeling in Miami typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 installed, depending on cabinet line, countertop material, and how much of the existing layout we’re keeping. We stock KraftMaid-compatible cabinet components, hinges, drawer slides, and trim pieces on our truck, and most hardware-level repairs happen same-day. The bigger remodel work, full cabinet replacement or layout changes, takes proper planning and we’ll give you a written timeline before anything gets torn out.
Most Miami homeowners don’t wake up planning a KraftMaid remodel. They notice a drawer face that’s pulling loose, soft-close hinges that stopped catching, or a cabinet box that’s swollen from humidity near the dishwasher. One failed part becomes a reason to look hard at the whole kitchen. That’s where we come in. We’re Sawyer Remodel Miami, and we’ve been working KraftMaid kitchens across Miami for years, from Coral Gables condos to Brickell high-rises. We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with KraftMaid, but we know their product lines well enough to spec the right part the first time.
Which KraftMaid Models This Applies To

KraftMaid builds across three main cabinet lines: Venicia (their frameless, full-access European-style line), Vantage (the mid-tier framed cabinet most Miami condos have), and their standard framed line carried at big-box retailers. The compatibility gotcha that trips up most owners: Venicia hardware and hinge plates do not swap with Vantage or standard framed cabinets. Different cup diameter, different mounting offset. If you order a Venicia hinge for a Vantage door, the door hangs proud and the soft-close never engages.
Identifying your line is simple. Open a cabinet door and look at the inside of the frame. Framed cabinets (Vantage and standard) have a visible face frame around the opening. Venicia has no face frame, just a clean box with the door covering the full front. On the hinge itself you’ll find a stamped marking, usually “KM” followed by a number, and that number tells us the series. For drawer slides, measure the side clearance between the drawer box and cabinet wall: KraftMaid uses 1/2-inch side clearance on most framed lines and a hair less on Venicia. Too much clearance means the wrong slide or a worn-out glide.
For replacement parts, OEM is the safe route when the cabinet is under ten years old and the finish is still in production. KraftMaid changes finish names and sheens periodically, so a five-year-old “Maple Cognac” door front might now be called something else. We keep aftermarket equivalents from proven suppliers for common failure points: hinges, slides, drawer glides, and shelf pins. The aftermarket hinges we use are full-wrap steel with the same cup depth, and they outlast the original plastic-clip versions KraftMaid shipped on some budget lines.

Signs Your KraftMaid Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Soft-close doors slam shut. The damper inside the hinge cartridge wears out. In Miami’s humidity, the internal grease breaks down faster than it does in drier climates, typically within 5 to 7 years on original hinges.
- Drawers stick or wobble when you pull them. The nylon rollers on the slide flatten over time, especially under heavy cookware loads. Once the roller flattens, the drawer rides on the bare metal rail and starts scoring it.
- Cabinet doors hang uneven or rub the frame. Hinge plates loosen from the door’s repeated opening and closing, or the particleboard screw anchors strip out. You’ll see doors that won’t stay adjusted no matter how many times you tighten them.
- The cabinet box is swollen or delaminating near the sink or dishwasher. That’s moisture intrusion, and it’s common in Miami kitchens where humidity sits high year-round. The bottom panel starts flaking, the joint opens, and the whole cabinet loses structural integrity.
- Finish is peeling or bubbling on doors near heat sources. The oven, toaster, or a steam-producing cooktop breaks down the conversion varnish over time. KraftMaid’s older finishes were already thin, and Miami heat makes it worse.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

What you’ll pay depends on what failed and how far the damage spread. A hinge or drawer slide replacement in Miami runs $45 to $180 per part installed, and we typically knock out all the hardware fixes in one visit. A partial cabinet rebuild, new door fronts, new drawer boxes, or matching a discontinued finish pushes into the $2,360 to $7,670 range for countertop-level work and up from there. Full kitchen remodels with KraftMaid cabinets land between $16,520 and $53,100.
| Service | Typical Miami Price Range |
|---|---|
| Hardware repair (hinges, slides, glides) | $45 – $180 per part |
| Cabinet installation | $4,720 – $15,340 |
| Countertop installation | $2,360 – $7,670 |
| Backsplash installation | $945 – $2,950 |
| Full kitchen remodel (KraftMaid cabinets) | $16,520 – $53,100 |
Every quote from us is a written price before anything gets ordered. That number includes the parts, the labor, the haul-away, and the finish work. We don’t change the price at the door, and we don’t send you a surprise line item after the fact. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every install we do: if the work’s not right, we make it right, in writing, for a full year.

If it’s a loose hinge screw, you can tighten it. If it’s a shelf pin, you can replace it. Past that, KraftMaid cabinets punish guesswork. Overtightening a hinge screw strips the particleboard, and now you’ve got a stripped anchor that needs a threaded insert to fix. Forcing a drawer that’s binding bends the slide rail, and a bent rail won’t take a new glide. And if your cabinet box has moisture damage, that’s not a part replacement, that’s a structural repair.
We’ve rebuilt enough of these to know what’s worth saving and what’s not. You’re not paying us to learn on your kitchen. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you over the phone whether you’ve got an easy fix or a bigger job. Good work doesn’t need a sales pitch.
FAQs

Framed KraftMaid cabinets typically last 15 to 20 years in Miami with normal use, but hardware like hinges and slides generally needs replacement around year 7 to 10. The humidity here shortens the life of finishes and internal dampers faster than the national average. If your boxes are solid, a hardware refresh can buy you another decade.
We repair what’s repairable: hinges, slides, drawer boxes, face frames, and finish touch-ups are all on the table. Full replacement only becomes the answer when the cabinet box itself is swollen, delaminated, or the finish is too far gone to match. We’ll tell you which one you’re dealing with before you spend a dollar. Call (850) 801-8046 for an exact read on your kitchen.
A hardware-level repair is same-day. A partial cabinet rebuild usually runs 3 to 5 business days once parts land. A full KraftMaid kitchen remodel in Miami typically runs 4 to 8 weeks, depending on cabinet lead time and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. We give you a written timeline at the estimate, and you get photo updates before and after each phase.
We stock the common failure points on our trucks: hinges, slides, drawer glides, shelf pins, and touch-up kits for KraftMaid’s current finishes. Discontinued finishes and custom door fronts are a special order, usually 2 to 4 weeks out. Call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll check the truck before you even schedule.
