Why Miami Homeowners Choose KraftMaid Construction
We provide independent Miami Kraftmaid service, from full kitchen remodels with Bayshore cabinets to repair work on older Vantage lines. Our crew has completed over 200 KraftMaid kitchen and bath projects in Miami-Dade, which means we know exactly how these cabinets hold up in our salt-heavy, high-humidity climate and what actually fails. We’re not a KraftMaid-authorized facility. We’re an independent contractor that works on these cabinets every week, which means we get to tell you straight what’s worth fixing and what’s worth replacing. Call (850) 801-8046 to talk through your project.
Miami kitchen cabinets face conditions you won’t find in a KraftMaid brochure. Coastal air eats at metal hardware. Summer humidity works its way into MDF cores. High-rise condos near the water cycle through temperature swings that make thermofoil peel at the edges. We’ve spent years learning which KraftMaid lines handle this environment and which ones need a little more attention. That’s the information we bring to every job, and it’s why so many Miami homeowners search us out specifically for KraftMaid work.
Why Trust Sawyer Remodel Miami for Your KraftMaid Construction?

Luca Romano, the owner at Sawyer Remodel Miami, grew up in Los Angeles and learned construction at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before spending decades running job sites across the country. His crew has been working Miami homes for years, gutting and rebuilding kitchens and providing Kraftmaid repair in Coral Gables and overhauling bathrooms in Brickell. When you call about a KraftMaid cabinet issue, the person on-site understands how the cabinet was built, why it’s failing in Miami’s climate, and what repair approach makes sense without wasting your money.
Our team works with KraftMaid’s product lines constantly. We know that Vantage slab doors use a different hinge spec than Leighton or Kinsdale raised-panel styles. We know where Bayshore cabinets tend to show UV fade first in Miami sunrooms. And we keep a stock of common KraftMaid hardware locally so we’re not waiting two weeks on a soft-close hinge when your cabinet door is sagging. Every KraftMaid job we take on runs under The Relay Visibility Guarantee: a written price before work starts, live arrival time tracking, and photo updates as the project moves. You’ll know who’s coming, when they’ll show up, and exactly what it costs before we pick up a tool.

Common KraftMaid Construction Problems We Fix in Miami
- Thermofoil delamination on slab doors. KraftMaid’s Vantage line uses thermofoil-wrapped slab doors, and in Miami’s coastal condos the constant humidity plus salt air causes the vinyl layer to peel back at the edges. We see this most often in older Brickell and Edgewater units where kitchens are close to balconies or open water. The fix is re-laminating the panel or refacing the door fronts, not tearing out the whole cabinet run.
- Soft-close hinge failure on older Vantage door styles. The early soft-close mechanisms on legacy Vantage doors wear out faster in Miami because salt in the air accelerates the grease breakdown inside the hinge. A door that slams instead of gliding shut is a hinge issue, not a cabinet issue. We swap in fresh hardware and realign the door in under an hour on most jobs.
- Swollen MDF core panels from under-sink leaks. KraftMaid builds many of its cabinet sides and door cores from MDF, and when a garbage disposal or supply line drips under a Miami sink, that MDF absorbs water fast. We replace the affected panels and treat the surrounding frame so the swelling doesn’t spread. Running a fan won’t fix it once the core has absorbed moisture.
- UV fade on Bayshore finishes in sunrooms and south-facing kitchens. Miami’s sun is brutal on cabinet finishes. Bayshore cabinets in enclosed sunrooms or kitchens with big east-facing windows lose their color depth within a few years. We refinish or reface those cabinets with UV-stable products so the replacement doesn’t fade at the same rate. This is one of the most common calls we get from Coral Gables and Pinecrest homeowners.
- Drawer glide wear in high-use Miami kitchens. KraftMaid drawer glides are solid hardware, but daily use in a busy Miami household will eventually wear them down, especially in humid kitchens where the metal picks up moisture. We replace worn undermount glides with heavier-duty sets and adjust alignment so drawers pull smooth again.
KraftMaid Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

We use genuine KraftMaid hardware whenever it’s available. Hinges, drawer glides, and mounting plates from the manufacturer preserve the original fit and alignment, and they keep any warranty language on your side. But KraftMaid has discontinued parts for older Bayshore and Leighton lines, and in those cases we source quality aftermarket alternatives that match or exceed the original spec. For Miami-specific damage like thermal cracking or water intrusion, refacing or partial replacement usually makes more sense than ripping out an entire cabinet run. Replacing a full kitchen costs four to ten times what a targeted repair does, and in most Miami condos the cabinet boxes themselves are still structurally sound.
If you’re not sure whether a repair will hold up, call (850) 801-8046 and we’ll give you a straight answer. We’ll tell you when refacing will work and when it won’t.
Our KraftMaid Service Process – Step by Step
- 1
Diagnosis on-site. We inspect the cabinets, identify the KraftMaid line and model, and check for related issues you may not have spotted. In Miami, water damage behind one cabinet usually means more moisture worked its way along the toe kick or shared side panel. We find it before we quote.
- 2
Written price before work starts. You get a line-item price covering parts, labor, and any adjustments we discovered. The number you approve is the number on your invoice. No change orders, no surprise add-ons when we’re halfway through.
- 3
Repair or installation. We do the work with the right KraftMaid-spec hardware, whether that’s genuine OEM or a quality aftermarket replacement on a discontinued line. Our techs are background-checked and uniformed, and you’ll have live arrival tracking so you know exactly when we hit the driveway.
- 4
Testing and alignment. Every door, drawer, and hinge gets adjusted and tested before we call the job done. Soft-close mechanisms get cycled repeatedly. Drawer glides get pulled to full extension. If it doesn’t operate clean, we fix it before we leave.
- 5
365-Day Done Right Promise. If something isn’t right within a full year after the job closes, we come back and make it right. Written on every KraftMaid project we do in Miami.

AfterKraftMaid Products We Service & Install in Miami

We work on KraftMaid’s current and legacy cabinet lines. Vantage, the slab-door line that’s popular in Miami’s modern condo kitchens. Bayshore, raised-panel cabinets you see all over Coral Gables and Pinecrest dining rooms. Kinsdale, the transitional style that splits the difference between traditional and contemporary. And Leighton, a legacy line we still find in older Miami-Dade homes and additions. We stock common KraftMaid-compatible hinges, soft-close mechanisms, drawer glides, and touch-up kits locally, so most hardware swaps don’t require a shipping wait. For full scale work, we order directly through KraftMaid’s dealer network and handle the entire install from delivery to final alignment.
Beyond KraftMaid, we also install and service cabinets and surfaces from a range of other manufacturers, including Cambria, Silestone, Kohler, and Toto. If you’ve got a mixed kitchen with KraftMaid cabinets and a Cambria countertop, one crew can handle the whole job.
We Also Service These Brands
Sawyer Remodel Miami isn’t single-brand dependent, but as a General Contractor, We work across Cambria, Silestone, Kohler, and Toto products regularly, and we’re comfortable pulling permits and coordinating multi-trade remodels in Miami’s older condo buildings. If your KraftMaid kitchen remodel also involves a new Kohler sink or a Silestone counter, we’ll manage the full scope without you chasing separate contractors.
FAQs – KraftMaid Construction Service in Miami
Yes, in most cases. Thermofoil delamination on Vantage slab doors can be repaired by re-laminating the panel or refacing the door fronts, which costs far less than full cabinet replacement. If the MDF core underneath has swollen from moisture absorption, we’ll need to replace those specific doors, but the boxes usually stay. Call (850) 801-8046 for a quick assessment and an exact quote.
For most Vanage door styles, yes. KraftMaid still supplies hinges for the current Vantage line. For older production runs that have been discontinued, we source quality aftermarket hinges that match the original mounting pattern and soft-close behavior. Either way, we’ll get your doors closing like they should without replacing the cabinets.
UV exposure, plain and simple. Miami gets intense year-round sun, and Bayshore finishes break down faster when hit with direct sunlight through glass. We refinish or reface sun-damaged doors with UV-stable products that hold their color much longer. If your Bayshore cabinets are in a south-facing kitchen or enclosed sunroom, give us a call at (850) 801-8046 and we’ll tell you what the fix will cost.
This one’s trickier. Leighton is no longer in production, and exact door matches are hard to source. What we can do is either reface the existing cabinets with a new door style that complements the Leighton profile, or build custom doors that replicate the original look. Partial replacement is usually the smarter move, and we’ll walk you through the options before anything gets ordered.
For most Miami condos, partial is the right call. The cabinet boxes in a condo kitchen are usually still solid, especially in concrete buildings where the kitchen doesn’t shift. If your doors are worn, hinges are failing, or the finish has faded, refacing and hardware replacement gets you a fresh kitchen for about a third of a full teardown. If the layout isn’t working or water damage has spread through the boxes, then full replacement makes more sense. We’ll tell you straight which one applies to your kitchen.
