Sterling Kitchen Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
A full Sterling kitchen remodel in Miami typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 installed, depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and whether we’re moving plumbing or electrical. Most jobs take 3 to 6 weeks from demo to final walkthrough. The homeowners who call us usually have a Sterling kitchen that’s structurally fine but functionally dead: soft-close hinges that snap, finish that’s worn through on the doors, or a layout that never worked for how they actually cook.
If you’ve got a Sterling kitchen that’s failing piece by piece, this page tells you what’s worth fixing, what’s worth replacing, and what it’ll cost in Miami before you pick up the phone.
Sawyer Remodel Miami is an independent contractor, not affiliated with Sterling. We work with Sterling components regularly because they’re common in Miami condos and single-family homes built from the late 90s through today.
Which Sterling Models This Applies To

Sterling doesn’t make full kitchen cabinet lines the way KraftMaid or Wellborn do. Sterling’s kitchen footprint in Miami is mostly sinks, faucets, plumbing fixtures, and tub/shower surrounds used in adjacent spaces. So when a Miami homeowner says they have a “Sterling kitchen,” they usually mean one of two things: a kitchen built around Sterling plumbing fixtures and a Sterling sink, or a kitchen with cabinets from a big-box line that was installed alongside Sterling fixtures.
That distinction matters for pricing and for parts. If your Sterling undermount sink is chipped or the faucet is leaking at the base, that’s a fixture-level fix we can usually do in a day for a few hundred dollars. If the cabinets are failing and the Sterling sink is fine, you’re into a full remodel conversation. We stock common Sterling sink clips, mounting hardware, and faucet cartridges on the truck. For full kitchen remodels, we also work with KraftMaid and Wellborn cabinetry, Cambria and Silestone countertops, and Kohler and Moen fixtures, so you’re not locked into one brand when Sterling doesn’t make the component you need.
The gotcha we see most in Miami: Sterling sinks use a specific clip pattern for undermount installation, and not all aftermarket clips sit flush on the lip. If someone did a cheap install with generic clips, the sink will eventually sag and the silicone seal will tear. That’s when water starts pooling under the cabinet and warping the base. We always use Sterling-spec clips or the manufacturer’s direct replacement.

Signs Your Sterling Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Sink pulls away from the counter. Failed undermount clips or deteriorated silicone. You’ll see a dark gap between the sink lip and the stone. Left alone, water gets under the cabinet and rots the floor of the sink base.
- Faucet drips or sprays at the base, not the spout. A worn cartridge or a dried O-ring inside the body. Sterling faucets use brand-specific cartridges, and the wrong aftermarket part will leak again in months. The right one lasts years in Miami’s hard water.
- Cabinet doors no longer close flush. Soft-close hinges fail one at a time, but when three or four go, the door hangs crooked and the adjusted tension is gone. In Miami humidity, the hinge springs also corrode faster than inland. This is repairable, but it’s often the signal that the whole cabinet box is nearing the end.
- Finish worn through at the edges of doors and drawer fronts. Once the thermofoil or paint coating is breached, humidity gets underneath and the MDF swells. Miami’s wet season accelerates this. You can’t refinish thermofoil. Replacement doors or new cabinets are the real options.
- Drawers stick or drop when you pull them. Worn glides, cracked drawer boxes, or a shifted face frame. If the glide is the only problem, it’s a quick swap. If the drawer box is delaminating from moisture, that cabinet is done.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Sterling kitchen remodel in Miami runs $16,520 to $53,100. Where you land depends on square footage, cabinet grade, countertop material, and how much plumbing and electrical we’re moving. A small galley kitchen with stock cabinets and a laminate top sits at the low end. A larger kitchen with custom or semi-custom cabinets, Cambria or Caesarstone countertops, an island, and a relocated sink gets into the $40,000 to $53,000 range.
Here’s how the common scopes price out in Miami:
- Kitchen Remodel (full): $16,520 – $53,100
- Small Kitchen Remodel: $10,620 – $23,600
- Cabinet Installation: $4,720 – $15,340
- Countertop Installation: $2,360 – $7,670
- Backsplash Installation: $945 – $2,950
- Kitchen Island Installation: $3,540 – $11,800
Every quote includes the written price before work starts, all labor, the parts and materials specified, and disposal of the old cabinets and counters. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the work for a full year after closeout. If something we installed fails because we installed it wrong, we come back and fix it, no argument.
DIY or Call Us?
Some things you can check yourself. A wobbly faucet base usually means the mounting nut underneath loosened, and you can often tighten it with a basin wrench. A sink that’s sagging at one corner should be looked at by a pro, because you’re dealing with stone or quartz bearing down on clips that have already failed once.
Where DIY goes sideways is when homeowners try to remove an undermount sink without bracing it, and the whole thing drops into the cabinet, taking the plumbing with it. Or they buy a cheap faucet cartridge online, cross-thread it, and crack the valve body inside the wall. That’s not a $30 repair anymore, that’s a drywall and valve replacement. Plumbing and stone don’t forgive mistakes. If you’re not sure, call us at (850) 801-8046 and Luca will tell you over the phone whether it’s worth a service call or something you can handle yourself.
FAQs

Sterling sinks and faucets typically last 10 to 20 years in Miami, but the cabinets around them usually fail first, especially if they’re thermofoil. Humidity is the main killer. We see cabinets with blown edges and swollen MDF in kitchens that are only 8 to 12 years old, while the Sterling sink beneath is still solid.
Yes, in a lot of cases. We can replace sink clips, reseal the sink lip, swap faucet cartridges, replace hinges and glides, and install new doors and drawer fronts if the boxes are still square. The point where repair stops making sense is when the cabinet boxes themselves are water-damaged or the finish is failed across most of the doors. Call (850) 801-8046 with photos and we’ll give you an honest read.
A full kitchen remodel runs 3 to 6 weeks from demo to final walkthrough. A fixture-level fix, like a new Sterling sink or faucet, is usually done in one day. The biggest schedule variable in Miami is cabinet lead time, not labor, so we order the cabinets as soon as the written quote is approved.
We carry common Sterling sink clips, mounting hardware, and faucet cartridges on the truck. For less common Sterling components, we can usually source them from local Miami plumbing supply houses within a day or two.
